Object
To use your magnetic puck to control scoring zones on the playfield. First player to exactly 20 points is the winner.
Play
- Each player takes 3 magnetic pucks in their chosen color, black or gold.
- Using the magnetic yoke, players take it in turn to fire their pucks one at a time at the various scoring zones on the playfield.
- Zones marked 3 are worth 3 points, zones marked 2 are worth 2, and so on.
- If the puck is not completely within a zone, whichever zone the majority of the puck resides in is the zone for which it is scored.
- Once both players have played all 3 of their pucks, the score is tallied, pucks are gathered, and if no one has won, the player to go last this round now goes first.
Scoring
- Each zone can only be scored by one player per round.
- A zone is scored by the player controlling the majority of the pucks in that zone.
- For example: if Gold has 2 pucks in Zone 3 and Black has 1, Gold scores 3 points for that zone, and Black scores 0.
- Multiple pucks of the same color in a single zone only count for majority and not as a score multiplier. The score for controlling a zone is always the number printed on that zone.
- A player is, however, allowed to score both unique zones of the same value in a round.
- For example: if Black has control of both Zones 2, Black's score is 4 points for those zones—2 points for each Zone 2 that Black controls.
- The highest possible score for a player in a round is therefore 8 points.
- A zone with no majority is not scored for either player.
Irregularities
- If a puck leaves the playfield area, the puck is removed from play.
- If a puck becomes flipped or stands on edge, the puck is removed from play.
- If a puck becomes stuck to a magnet embedded in the playfield, the puck is removed from play.
- If a puck becomes stuck to another puck, both pucks are removed from play.
Winning
- The first player to score exactly 20 points is the winner of the game.
- If a player scores in excess of 20 in a given round, that player's score for that round is ignored and play continues.
- For example: if Gold's score at the beginning of a round is 18, and Gold scores 4 points in that round, Gold's score remains 18 points, and another round is played.
