Basic Variant
Players: 3–15.
- Place the face-down, shuffled decks of White Cards and Black Cards in the middle. Each player takes a set of 10 White Cards.
- The tallest player becomes the Gentleman or Lady, turns over one Black Card, and reads the question aloud.
- The other players choose the funniest answer from their 10 White Cards and pass it face down to the Gentleman. Note. When the question requires more than one answer, each player prepares their own face-down pile of White Cards. The lowest card in the pile is read first, and the highest card is read last.
- The Gentleman reads the question aloud and the collected answers from all the White Cards. For better effect, read the question and the answers alternately.
- The Gentleman chooses, at their discretion, the best answer and gives its owner the Black Card. White Cards that have been used may not be used again by the players. The Gentleman places them on the discard pile.
- After the discarded answers have been collected, each player tops up their set of 10 White Cards by drawing from the face-down White Card deck.
- The next player, chosen clockwise, becomes the new Gentleman or Lady and reads aloud a new Black Card.
- The game may end at any time. The player with the most Black Cards wins.
Second Variant: Gentlemanly Tales (Dżentelmeńskie Opowieści)
Players: 2–15.
- The shuffled, face-down deck of White Cards is laid out in the middle of the table. Each player takes a set of 5 White Cards.
- The tallest player becomes the Gentleman or Lady and solemnly begins the game.
- The Gentleman chooses any card from their 5 White Cards and says aloud the first sentence of a story, using the keyword from the chosen card. The keyword may be inflected by case. Note. Used White Cards may not be used again by the players. No cards are drawn in this game.
- The next Gentleman, chosen clockwise, continues the story of the previous player, working into it the keyword they choose from their own White Cards.
- A player who cannot continue the story receives a Penalty Point and starts a new story. The other players continue with the new story.
- The game ends when each player has used up all of their White Cards.
- The player with the most Penalty Points loses.
