45 hardwood Jenga blocks, stacking sleeve, 4 character pegs, spinner (with plastic arrow and base).

Set Up

The first time you play, assemble the spinner by pushing the plastic arrow through the spinner card and snapping the arrow into the base.

  1. Set up the tower. The colors of the blocks represent three types of building materials: wood, brick, and metal. Mix up the blocks. Randomly place three blocks per layer, alternating direction by layer. The holes on the blocks can be on different sides of the tower. Use the stacking sleeve if necessary.
  2. Choose your character. Place your character peg in front of you.

Play

The youngest player goes first, and play moves to the left.

On Your Turn

  1. Spin. The spinner determines three things:

    • How many blocks you must remove and stack (0, 1, or 2).
    • Which type of block must be stacked (wood, brick, or metal).
    • How many layers your character must climb (1, 2, or 3).

IMPORTANT: Steps 2 and 3 can be performed in any order.

  2. Stack. Use one hand to remove the required type of block from anywhere below the highest completed layer. You can touch the blocks to see if any are loose. Then place the block on top of the tower. (Always complete a layer before starting a new one.) Wait for about 5 seconds. If the tower falls, you're out!

    • If your character peg is in the block that you want to stack, either choose a different block to stack or move your peg up before stacking.
    • If an opponent's character peg is in the block that you want to stack, move their peg down to the first available hole on their side of the tower and then stack. (You might have to move their peg down further if all the holes are occupied.)
    • If the only block you can move will definitely make the tower fall, you may skip the stacking part of your turn.

Did you spin "Stack 2 Blocks"? Either stack the second block now or do so after Step 3!

  3. Climb. Move your character peg up to the required layer, and insert it into a hole on any available side of the tower. Wait for about 5 seconds. If the tower falls, you're out!

    • Your character must climb all the required layers at once (e.g., if you spin "Climb 2," you can't climb one layer, then remove and stack a block before climbing another layer).

Win

The first player to insert their character peg into one of the top holes on the tower wins. (You do not have to reach the top by exact count. All players then continue playing, but with traditional gameplay rules, until the tower falls.) If the tower falls before anyone reaches the top, the player with the highest character wins. But if that player knocked down the tower, they're out, and the player with the second-highest character wins. If there's a tie, play again to decide the winner.

  • If you choose to climb to an occupied hole, move that opponent's character peg down to the first available hole on their side of the tower. Then insert your peg into the hole they vacated.
  • If you pass an opponent's character peg as you climb, do not move it down. Only move their peg if it is occupying a hole at the end point of your climb (e.g., if you spin "Climb 3" and pass someone on the second layer of your climb, do not move their peg).
  • Did a peg fall out? Carefully return it to the hole it fell from! (The printed sheet reads "CARFULLY"; corrected here to "Carefully".)

  • End your turn. Once you've stacked blocks (if any) and climbed, it's the next player's turn.

Did you spin "Reverse Play"? Play continues in the opposite direction!
