Throne of Embers (insert card):
Rumors are afloat of majestic treasures deep within the mines of Talora. But those same tales tell of a monstrous creature far below the surface made of fire itself!
Remove the following cards from the base game and replace them with the cards found in this adventure pack.
- Enemies: Orc and Cave Troll.

- Boss: Fire Elemental.
[Transcriber note: the insert prints the Boss line in the same colour as the removal instruction, under the removal list. It is transcribed as printed. The insert's plot and enemy names do not match the plot and enemy card faces in the pack's card-scan image; see Transcriber Notes.]

Plots
Column of Fire
Before stands a column of fire that reaches up into the ceiling of the cave. To your surprise it begins to speak to you. "I am hungry for flesh and bone. Fill me up, and reward you'll own."
Feed the fire?
You take a corpse of an enemy you have defeated and toss it into the flames. The fire moans in pleasure.
Discard an unspent enemy card that you have defeated. Gain treasure equal to the reward displayed on said discarded enemy card. Lose 1 energy token.
Ignore the voices in your head?
You pretend you heard nothing and continue on your way.
The Madman
"It is mine, all mine. Finally I have it again." A shadowy figure in the clearing whispers to himself, while holding an object wrapped in a cloth.
Ask the man about the object?
- Dice faces 1 and 2 (pictured): As you approach, the man spins away and disappears in a puff of smoke. In his place an enemy appears! Draw and face a random enemy.
- Dice faces 3 and 4 (pictured): The man hesitantly reveals the object. Just the sight of it fills you with power. The man quickly covers it and runs off. You gain 2 energy.
- Dice faces 5 and 6 (pictured): The man will not show you the object, but instead hands you an item before disappearing into the shadows. Gain 1 random Loot Card.
Leave the man alone!
You avoid making eye contact as you quietly make your way around the man to the passage on the other side.
The Old Goblin
In the clearing you spy an old goblin woman attempting to lower a bucket down into a well. She is dressed like a shaman, but appears to be struggling to operate the well.
Assist the old goblin?
You walk towards the old goblin. She seems startled to see you and even more so when you help her fetch some water.
She returns to favor by handing you a random potion.
Gain 1 random potion and lose 2 energy. Move up 2 on the morality track.
Rob the old hag!
You easily overpower the weak creature and take all her belongings.
Gain 1 random potion and 2 gold. Move down 2 on the morality track.
Map
The Map card is a board tile with no written rules text.
Transcriber Notes
- Insert vs. card faces (not resolved). The insert's removal list names Orc, Cave Troll, The Corpse, The Passageway, The Old Woman and Fire Elemental. The card faces in the pack are Fire Elemental (boss), Lizardkin ×2, Fire Bat ×3, Column of Fire, The Madman and The Old Goblin. The mapping between the two lists is not printed in the pack. Each card is transcribed under its own printed title and the insert is transcribed as printed. Do not infer the mapping from this file.
- Dice faces. The Dash skill and The Madman plot show their roll outcomes as pictures of two dice. Each picture is transcribed as the pair of faces shown: 1 and 2, 3 and 4, or 5 and 6. The pip counts were read from an enlarged view of the card-scan image.
- Icons not transcribed. The stat badges, the orange dots, the teal badges, the card-footer icons (Column of Fire has three, The Madman has two, The Old Goblin has one) and the card codes are not transcribed as text. Their meanings are explained in the base Iron Helm rulebook.
- Card flavour. The italic card flavour lines on the plot cards are kept. The Character and loot cards carry no flavour text on the card face.
- Printed typo. "additonal" on Olum's Shelter is kept as printed (see the note under that card).
