City in Captivity
A stranger arranges a meeting with newspaper editor Jim Austin, promising to reveal the mayor's ties to the mafia. A day before the meeting he is unexpectedly murdered, and the police are in no hurry to find the culprit. Austin starts his own investigation and discovers that the mafia has taken over the whole city, and that not everyone in it can be trusted...
Detective: Paperboy
Motives used: Killer, Maniac, Sadist, Radical, Terrorist, Robber
The printed scenario card crosses out Vigilante and Spy, so this scenario uses these six motives.
The booklet shows this scenario's own arrangement of Building markers and civilians on the Game Board in an illustration. The layout is not described in text.
Special Rules
There cannot be a Person of Interest in this scenario. Remove the Detective card "Full Confession" from the game. At the start of the game, the Murderer chooses 2 Social Groups that will be their Supporters and places these Social Group tokens in front of themself. The Murderer then returns one random Social Group token from the remaining stack to the box.
Before the start of the game, the Detective takes the Detective card "Police Raid" and one Social Group token. The Detective looks at the token in secret and shuffles it back into the stack.
In the City Phase, the Murderer may name a color of a Social Group instead of revealing a Social Group token, and move the civilians of that color by the usual rules.
Hired Gun
After eliminating his target, hitman Philip Raven receives payment in marked money, and the police are on his trail. Wanting to settle the score with his employer, Raven returns to him and finds... his body. It seems someone is killing everyone connected to this case. Raven is not interested in motives; he simply needs to find the hunter before he becomes the prey...
Detective: Gangster
Motive used: Killer
The booklet shows this scenario's own arrangement of Building markers and civilians on the Game Board in an illustration. The layout is not described in text.
Special Rules
This scenario uses 24 Civilian cards, and for the Detective to win they need to identify only the Murderer's identity, since there is only one motive and it is known to them.
In this scenario the Murderer has two Persons of Interest. Determine the second one in the usual way during setup.
Remove from the box the Surveillance token, the Evidence tokens and the Police Station marker, as they will not be needed. At the start of the game, the Murderer takes three Murderer cards: "Homemade Bomb", "Abduction" and "False Alarm". Place one "Vehicle Impoundment" card under each of Crime Scene cards 2 and 4. The Detective receives these cards after the corresponding murders are committed. Return the remaining Murderer and Detective cards to the box.
When performing the Fire Station action, the Detective may not take a token and may instead name a Social Group whose civilians they want to move.
