100 numeric cards, 4 x values 1-5 in 5 different colours, Instructions

Goal

Each player tries to take the least number of cards, especially to avoid the red cards which have diabolically high values.

Preparation

The numeric cards are shuffled well. Each player gets 12 cards, the remaining cards are placed face down. The starting player is chosen at random and the play is continues clockwise.

The Game

  • The first player puts down one card face up and declares color and value.
  • The next players can add cards matching in color or value.
  • If a player is not willing or able to add a card, then the player must take all played cards and place them in front of him. In the case when less than 3 cards have been played, the player has to complete these cards to a total of 3 by drawing cards from the pile.
  • Then the same player puts down a new cards and the game is continued.

Example: Ann plays a blue 5. Bert adds a yellow 5, Chris a blue 3, Irene a red 5. Steve has neither blue cards nor a 5 - he has to take all cards played and places them in front of him. Then he plays a new card from his hand, e.g. a yellow 2.

End of the Round

When a player plays his last card, he shouts "OUT". After that, the game is continued until one player takes all cards played.

If the game comes back to the player, who announced "OUT", he must take all cards played, as he has no cards left in his hand.

The other players return all the cards in their hands to the pile. In case the pile is used up during the game, the round ends, when the last card is taken from the pile.

Evaluation of Rounds

Each player counts the value of the cards he has taken. Red Inferno cards count the value printed on the cards, all other cards count 1. The results are noted.

New Round

The player sitting left of the previous start-player starts the new round. All cards are collected, well shuffled and dealt as before.

Number of Rounds

The number of rounds played coincides with the number of players taking part.

End of the Game

The game ends when the last round is finished. All players add up the results of each round. The winner is the player with the least points. In case of equal points a further decisive round will be played.
