Do Solstice and exhaust markers matter for Barbarian cards already in play, or for exhausted cards?

Solstice abilities resolve on every card in your play area regardless of its barbarian or empire icon, because the icon only limits playing a card. An exhaustion token on a card also does not block its Solstice ability; it only blocks the exhaust ability.
