How do Shaduf and Domestication trigger?

On your turn, when a region in play with the matching icon (water for Shaduf, fertile for Domestication) is used to gain the resource named in the rulebook's card notes, including through another card's effect such as Prosperity, Boats, Port or the Macedonian power, you may exhaust the card for 1 progress. It does not matter whether the icon itself is relevant to the effect. Each can be exhausted only once per turn, however many regions or resources are involved, and a region you just played counts as in play while it resolves. (The designer's posts and the notes in different printings are not worded identically about which resource; check your copy's card note.)
