Object of the Game
The goal is to be the first to go all the way around the game board with your own iKNOW figure. To advance, you must name as many items from the list as possible before time runs out, or correctly bet on how well the other players will do.
Setup
- Place the game board on the table and separate the iBET cards from the prompt cards.
- Give each player a set of iBET cards and one iKNOW figure of the same colour. Players place their iKNOW figures on the starting space of the matching colour.
- Make sure the black sliders on the Hit List plate are reset to their original position before each round, and place the plate nearby.
- Set aside all unused iKNOW figures and iBET cards.
- Besides the game board, the box contains a board with marked rectangular openings. Carefully remove the excess cardboard from the openings, following the instructions shown on the board. Before the start of the game, insert the prompt cards into these openings.
- The oldest player answers first.
Gameplay
The player whose turn it is answers first, while the player to their left acts as the Hit List plate manager.
When you are answering:
- The plate manager selects one card from any deck in the box and places it in the plate.
- Warning! The text on the front side of the plate must be kept hidden from all players at all times.
- The plate manager shows the prompt visible on the back side of the plate to all players except the player whose turn it is.
- All players who are not currently answering (including the plate manager) estimate how many items from the list you will be able to name: 0–3, 4–6, or 7–8. Each places their iBET card face down on the game board.
- The plate manager reads the prompt aloud, then turns over the hourglass.
- Before the time on the hourglass runs out, you must try to name as many items from the list as possible! Whenever you name an item from the list, the plate manager tells you and marks the item on the plate using a black slider. The plate manager uses their own judgement when accepting correct answers. Agree together beforehand how exact the answer must be!
- When time runs out, your turn ends.
- If you managed to name all eight items, well done! You may go straight to scoring.
- If you did not manage to name all eight items, a bonus round takes place.
Bonus Round
During the bonus round, each player (except the player whose turn it is and the plate manager) gets one attempt to name one item from the list that has not yet been said. If they succeed, they gain 1 point. Once the players have each attempted to name an item, the round ends.
Scoring
Now the iBET cards are revealed and the score is counted.
First, the player whose turn it was gains points:
- 0 points if they named no items,
- 1 point for 1–2 items,
- 2 points for 3–5 items,
- 3 points for 6–8 items.
Then the other players gain points:
- 1 point if they chose the correct iBET card,
- 1 point if they correctly named one item in the bonus round.
Players must now move their iKNOW figures on the game board 1 step clockwise for each point they gained during the bonus round and the scoring itself.
Next Rounds
The used card is set aside, and the empty Hit List plate is prepared for the next round. The role of plate manager passes to the next player, and the next player in turn order takes their turn. Both move clockwise, so the player who was plate manager in the previous round now takes their turn. A new card is then placed in the plate and a new round begins!
End of Game
The game ends when one or more players go all the way around the game board and arrive back at their own starting space. If only one player arrives back at their starting space in that round, that player is the sole winner.
If more than one player arrives back at their starting space in the same round, determine which player passed that space by the greater number of steps. That player becomes the winner. If two or more players advanced equally, a further card decides the overall winner. In that case, each of the tied players tries to name as many items from the list as possible. Again use the hourglass, but this time do not use the iBET cards and do not play a bonus round. For each of the tied players, choose one prompt card; those players then name as many items as possible for that prompt. The player who names the most items becomes the winner!
