Components

  • 8 Character sets, each consisting of:
    • 1 Character card;
    • 4 "NO" cards and 1 "YES" card.
  • 16 Priority cards.
  • 16 Outing cards.
  • 8 Interest boards, numbered from zero to six and eight. There is no board numbered 7.
  • 1 Special die.
  • 8 Heart markers.
  • 1 "X" marker (FORBIDDEN TO MOVE).

Setup

  1. Arrange the Interest boards in the centre of the table, in a column starting with zero and going up to eight. There is no board numbered 7!
  2. Shuffle the Priority cards and deal one to each player. Each card is dealt only once. Keep your priorities secret until final scoring!
  3. Everyone receives 1 character and their set of Vote cards.
  4. Shuffle the 16 Outing cards. The first player takes the first Outing card and places it in the row of one of the Interest boards from 0 to 3; these are the only rows used during setup. The rows for 4, 5, 6 and 8 points stay empty until the game reaches them. Each Interest board accepts up to 4 Outing cards in its row.
  5. The next player takes the next card and chooses its row. This step repeats until the Outing cards completely fill the rows 0 to 3, with 4 cards each.
  6. Place the die, the hearts and the FORBIDDEN TO MOVE marker where everyone can reach them.

Setup example (the printed page shows a diagram of a partially filled set of Interest boards; the diagram is not reproduced here).

Playing

In Um Dia para Relaxar the players take turns. Each turn is made up of three mandatory steps:

  1. Roll the die.
  2. Carry out the action shown on the face of the die.
  3. Vote on the outing on Interest board number 8.

Your goal is to move the outings on your Priority card as high as possible on the Interest levels.

The Actions

1. Roll the die

Roll the Special die and carry out the action shown. In the rare case that the action cannot be carried out, roll again until it is possible.

2. Carry out the action shown on the face of the die

There are 6 different actions on the die.

MOVE UP

Move one Outing card up one row. The row you are moving to must have fewer than 4 cards in it.

Example (diagram on the printed page): Aline wants to MOVE UP the BEACH card from row 2 to row 3 (A). Because row 3 already has 4 cards, she cannot do this action. So she decides to MOVE UP the TRAVEL card from row 1 to row 2 (B).

SWAP PLACES

Swap the positions of two Outing cards in adjacent rows. One card cannot be more than 1 row away from the other.

MOVE TWO UP

Move two different Outing cards, one row each, up from their positions. The row you are moving to must have at least one empty space. The same card cannot be moved twice. If the first outing you choose lands on row 8, the Voting step happens (see Step 3) and the player loses their second move.

LIKE

Place a Heart marker from the common supply on an outing of your choice. If the supply is empty, you may move a marker from one outing to another. You may also choose to do nothing. An Outing card can receive up to 8 hearts. Each Heart marker adds one extra point to the outing at the end of the game.

FORBIDDEN TO MOVE

Place the FORBIDDEN TO MOVE marker on an outing of your choice. Use the "X" marker from the supply, or move it from its current location if it is already in play. You may also choose to do nothing. An outing cannot be moved while the FORBIDDEN TO MOVE marker is on it.

SKIP A ROW

Move one Outing card two rows up from its current position. The row you are moving to must have at least one free space. There must also be at least one Outing card in the row being "skipped". This means you cannot skip over empty rows, but you can skip TO an empty row.

Example (diagram on the printed page): Juliana cannot move the PARK card from row 1 to row 3 (A), because row 3 is already full. She also cannot move the ICE CREAM SHOP from row 3 to row 5 (B), because there is no Outing to be skipped in row 4. Juliana therefore decides to move the BEACH card from row 2 to row 4 (C).

3. Vote on the outing on Interest board number 8

If there is an outing on Interest board 8, everyone votes on whether it will be the big outing of the day. Otherwise, nothing happens.

Everyone chooses a "YES" or "NO" card and places it face down in front of them.

After everyone has chosen their votes, the cards are revealed at the same time.

If there is at least one "NO" vote, someone does not want to go to that outing. In this case, remove from the game: the Outing card and all the "NO" votes that were used. If there are Heart markers on the outing, they return to the common supply.

Anyone who voted "YES" takes their card back. In this way, the "YES" Vote card can be used many times, but each "NO" Vote card is single-use.

If everyone votes "YES", the game ends immediately. Everyone reveals their Priority cards and counts their points.

If, after a vote, only one outing remains, it automatically advances to Interest board 8. No vote is held and final scoring takes place, since only one outing is available.

Example (from the printed page): SHOPPING reached position 8. Pedro, Sara, Juliana, Lucas and Aline choose their Vote cards, leaving them face down in front of them. When the votes are revealed, they see that Sara voted "NO". Even though the majority voted "YES", the SHOPPING card leaves the game, and so does Sara's "NO" Vote card.

Final Scoring

Once the outing for Hello Kitty's group has been chosen, it is time to calculate points.

Final scoring is calculated as follows:

  1. Everyone shows their Priority cards.
  2. Each Outing card that is on your Priority card scores the level of the row it is in on the Interest boards.
  3. 1 bonus point for each heart on an outing that is on your Priority card.
  4. 2 bonus points if the first outing on your Priority card is on Interest board number 8.
  5. 1 bonus point if the second outing on your Priority card is on Interest board number 8.
  6. Eliminated outings score no points.

The player with the most points is the winner. If there is a tie, the tied players share the victory.

Scoring example

Sara ended the game with the Priority card shown on the printed page. The SNACK BAR card was in row 5, scoring 5 points. The BEACH was on row 8, scoring 8 points + 1 bonus point. DIVING ended on row 6 and had 2 hearts on it, scoring 8 points. FARM and CINEMA were eliminated during the game and score no points.

Sara scored 22 points in total.
