Introduction

Heart of Crown: Far East Territory is the first expansion to the Heart of Crown Deck Building Card Game, providing 13 new types of cards based on east-west trade. In order to use this expansion, you will need the Heart of Crown base set.

Using Far East Territory Cards

Add the new Far East Princess of Sums Ohka card to the game in the same manner as the 6 princess cards from the base set.

To use the 12 new types of Common Cards, use them in the usual manner to create a set of 10 types of Common Cards for the Supply pile.

FAQ by Topic

Far East Princess of Sums Ohka

Q. What happens if I use Far East Princess of Sums Ohka's ability to banish a card, but there are no more cards of the same cost left in the Market?

A. After the card is banished, the rest of the effect will stop and not be resolved.

Apprentice Witch

Q. If I have a Magic Talisman in my hand or discard pile, can I defend against Apprentice Witch's ability?

A. Yes. Magic Talisman also counts as a Curse.

Archers

Q. With the Archers card's ability, do I gain Coins from all Attack cards, or just Military cards?

A. It's all Attack Cards. For example, Glamour Witch would also let you get 1 Coin.

Q. After playing Archers, if I use Shinobi to copy the ability of an Infantry Battalion or Archers in my discard pile, do I get an additional Coin?

A. Yes. Shinobi also copies the Card Type.

Carrier Pigeon

Q. If I acquire a card with Adventurer or similar, is it possible to then use Carrier Pigeon in the same turn to put it in my hand?

A. Yes.

Greedy Fairy

Q. Can I use Coin Counters to get Coins even on turns where I haven't played a Greedy Fairy?

A. Yes. The ability that lets you remove a Coin Counter to get a coin is a property of the Coin Counters themselves, and does not require any cards.

Q. Since Greedy Fairy can remove counters of a type of my choosing, does that mean I can remove Debt Counters?

A. Yes. Any counters in your field are valid targets.

Q. Can Greedy Fairy copy counters that do not currently exist but could? For example, if I have Imperial Estate and it doesn't yet have any "Succession Point +1" counters on it, can I use it to add one?

A. No, you cannot. It can only copy counters that are currently in your play area. Also note that counters removed as part of Greedy Fairy's cost cannot be targeted.

Q. Is it possible to use Greedy Fairy's ability to copy my Coin Counters and thereby get 3+ Coin Counters?

A. Yes. This is separate from Greedy Fairy's ability to create up to 2 of them.

Confederation

Q. When playing Confederation, can I declare no sub-type and target cards that have no sub-type?

A. No, you cannot. Confederation can only target cards that have a sub-type.

Q. After using Confederation and declaring the "Military" sub-type, can I have a Shinobi or Kunoichi copy an Infantry Battalion and put a "Succession Point +1" counter on my princess?

A. Yes. Shinobi and Kunoichi also copy the sub-type.

Q. After using two Confederations and declaring "Military" and "Strategy," what happens if I use a Shinobi or Kunoichi to copy an Infantry Battalion's ability?

A. When a Shinobi or Kunoichi copies a card's ability it also copies the card's type. Thus when it copies an Infantry Battalion's ability it also takes on the "Military" and "Strategy" types. Thus you can get the Confederation's ability of adding "Succession Point +1" counters twice.

Q. It is possible to gain "+1 Succession Point" counters with Confederation before backing a princess?

A. No, it is not.

Q. I played a Confederation and declared "Magic." Can the Greedy Fairy copy the "Succession Point +1" counters from the Confederation?

A. No, it cannot. You have to resolve the Confederation's ability after you finish resolving the Greedy Fairy's ability. "Playing" a card covers everything from when you declare you're playing it to when you finish resolving its ability.

Only Defense cards that can be used before another card finishes resolving.

Kunoichi

Q. If I have an Action card kept in my Domain, can I copy its ability with a Kunoichi and then after that recall the Action card?

A. Yes.

Levies

Q. How do I calculate the cost of acquiring a card with Adventurer or similar when there is a Levy Token on the stack?

A. Levy Tokens only affect buying. If you acquire a card through a card ability, it is resolved as normal.

Q. What happens if I use Bribery to buy a card from an opponent's discard pile when that type of card has a Levy Token on its stack in the Market?

A. Levy Tokens only affect buying from the market. Bribery increases the cost by 1, and lets you buy a card from an opponent's discard pile.

Mining City

Q. Can I remove an Ore Counter to acquire a card at any time?

A. No, you cannot. You can only do so when resolving Mining City's ability.

Samurai

Q. Can I use a Rampart to defend against Samurai's ability?

A. No, you cannot. A Samurai's ability does not reveal or discard cards, but rather removes them from the game.

Q. When Samurai removes an Action card from the game, can I use something like Bergamot's ability or a Carrier Pigeon to put it back into my hand?

A. No, you cannot. When a Samurai's ability removes a card from the game, they are not in your discard pile.

Trader

Q. What happens if I'm resolving Trader's ability and there's only 1 card left in my draw pile?

A. Trader's ability starts with "Take 2 cards from the top of your draw pile..." Since the draw pile runs out after drawing the single card, you then shuffle your discard pile into a new draw pile. To finish resolving the effect, draw the top card from the new draw pile, then pick a card to discard.

Q. When I return cards to my draw pile as part of Trader's ability, does that mean I choose from the 2 cards I discarded as part of its ability, or all of the cards in my discard pile?

A. All of the cards in your discard pile.
