When do I draw and place the replacement bonus marker after taking one?
The publisher confirmed the timing, and the rulebook says to place it before the next turn.

You draw the replacement as soon as you take a marker and keep it on your tin plate as a reminder. You place it at the end of your turn, after all your actions including any +3/+4 extra actions, before the next player's turn. Placing it on the original route is allowed if the conditions hold.
