Game Setup
Common
- Shuffle the Fabric cards and place them face down in the center of the table.
- Shuffle the Style cards, place them inside the card tray, and place the card tray on one side of the table. The back of the card tray should not be visible to either player.
- Set the Fabric tokens by color in a random order with the following side up: back-back-back-front-front-back. This is called the queue.
- Place each Victory Point token next to the last Fabric token of the matching color.
- Put the Additional VP tokens on one side of the table.
Individual
- One player becomes the start player and takes the Start Player marker.
- The start player draws 3 cards in any combination of Style and Fabric cards and places them face-up in front of the player. When you draw cards, you always decide how many cards you will draw from each deck and draw them all at once.
- The other player also draws 3 cards in any combination and places them face-up in front of them.
- Each player takes a Reference card and you are ready to play.
Game Play
Players take turns, starting with the start player. On your turn, take the following actions in order:
1. Draw 2 Cards
Draw 2 cards in any combination of Style and Fabric cards and place them face-up in front of you.
- 2 Style cards only, or
- 2 Fabric cards only, or
- 1 each of Style and Fabric cards.
When either deck runs out of cards, shuffle the discarded cards to create a new deck.
2. Create a Set
You can place down sets if you want, otherwise move on to step 3. A set is created by pairing a Style card with a Fabric card.
Select a Style card and a Fabric card that are placed in front of you, overlap them so the Style card is on top, and place them in your play area.
You can take a "Create a Set" action up to two times in a single turn. Each time you place one set down, proceed with the following steps:
2-1. Earn a Fabric Token
Select one of the two colors shown on the Fabric card of the set. Take the first (the farthest one from the Victory Point token) remaining Fabric token of that color.
Place the token you earned on the upper side of the set you've just played. The number on the front of the Fabric token indicates the influence.
- If you earn a face-up token, place it face-up as it is revealed.
- If you earn a face-down token, secretly check it and place it face-down.
You can freely check the front of your own tokens at any time.
2-2. Activate the Effect of the Style Card
Activate the effect of the Style card played in the set. Each Style card has the following effects, and they should be activated if possible. Each effect is marked by a shape printed on the Style card.
- Oval symbol: Check one token of the same color as the Fabric token you just earned. (a) Look at the front of a face-down token in the queue and return it, or (b) flip one of your opponent's tokens face-up.
- Triangle symbol: Increases the influence of this newly earned token by 2.
- Bell symbol: If the influence of this newly earned token is a negative (-) value, it is changed to a positive (+) value. If it is not negative, it has no effect.
- Trapezoid symbol: Double the influence of this newly earned token. A value of -3 becomes -6, and a value of 4 becomes 8.
- Mannequin symbol: Place 1 additional VP token next to the Victory Point token of the same color as the Fabric token you just earned.
There is no limit to the number of additional VP tokens that can be placed next to a single Victory Point token.
The effects of the Oval, Triangle, Bell and Trapezoid symbols apply in the scoring phase, and the tokens placed face-down are not revealed at this moment.
3. Pass
End your turn. At this point, you can only hold a maximum of 5 cards in your hand, and discard any excess. Put the discarded cards to one side sorted by type.
End of the Game
When two types of the Fabric tokens are removed from the queue or someone places 10 sets down, the play continues to the last player and the game ends. Players can play a maximum of 10 sets.
When the game ends, each player reveals all the Fabric tokens they have earned. Then, compare the influences, including the effects of the Style cards. The player with the highest total influence for each color wins that color's Victory Point token.
A minimum of 1 influence is required to earn the Victory Point token, and if there is a tie, there is no winner of the Victory Point token. When you earn a Victory Point token, you also earn any additional VP tokens placed next to it, if any.
Example (as shown in the rulebook):
- Green: total of 8 influences using a Triangle Style card, you earn VPs. Total of 7 influences.
- Red: -1 influence, higher than your opponent, but less than 1 in total. You don't earn VPs. Total of -4 influences.
- Blue: You win with 8 influence! You also get all the additional VP tokens.
- Orange: Less than 1 in total. You don't earn VPs.
- Black: Total of 5 influences, you earn VPs.
- Pink: Total of 8 influences with a Trapezoid Style card.
Player A wins with 7 VPs. Player B has 5 VPs.
The winner is the player with the most trophies shown on their Victory Point tokens and additional VP tokens!
If the numbers of trophies are the same, the player with the fewest sets wins, and if they are still the same, they win together.
