Components

  • 1 game board
  • 25 round tokens (numbered yellow back)
  • 4 coloured pawns
  • 23 square tiles (green back)
  • 1 die

Object of the Game

To be the first player to reach a certain score, which varies according to the number of participants.

Setup

Place the round tokens on the board, in the forest and in the appropriate spaces, with the number visible. Place the square tiles with the green back facing up, after shuffling them. Each player chooses a coloured pawn and, starting with the youngest, places it on a round yellow space with the number 1.

Play

Always starting with the youngest, the game turn begins. The player can decide to remain on the number 1 or to move to an adjacent round token. The number on the back determines how many die rolls must be made to win that token and the points beneath it. Each die roll corresponds to a creature, and you must try to guess a green tile. When you roll the die and get a 1 you must find the blueberries, with 2 the strawberry, with 3 the blackberry, with 4 the worm, with 5 the snail and with 6 the ladybird.

Example: you have decided to move onto a space with the number 3. You roll the die and get a 2, you turn over a tile and find the strawberry; you roll the die again and get a 4, you look for the worm and find it; you roll the die again and get a 6 and turn over a green tile with the ladybird beneath it. You have succeeded in guessing the three required tiles and win the points beneath the yellow number 3 (the red dots above the badger's nose).

If during the attempt you get a tile wrong, the turn ends with zero points. If the "rubbish" tile comes up, the turn ends, you lose 1 point and the tile is removed. During the turn, correctly guessed tiles remain face up and are turned face down again only at the end of the turn. You can gain 1 point by passing your turn. Several coloured pawns may be on the same space (apart from at the start).

Scoring

The game ends when a score is reached, based on the number of players:

  • With 2 players, 25 points to win.
  • With 3 players, 20 points to win.
  • With 4 players, 15 points to win.
