Components

  • 1 set of rules
  • 1 game board
  • 150 double-sided cards (each headed "What annoys you the most?", with a statement on it)
  • 24 vote cards (3 per player, marked A, B and C; the front is labelled "Vote card")
  • 64 tokens (8 per player, values 0 to 7, in the player's colour)

Aim of the Game

Vote and bet in secret on the statements on the game board that annoy you the most. The game lasts 8 rounds. In each round the players vote on which of the 3 statements annoys them most. The vote card with the most votes wins the round. The tokens bet on the round's winning card are gathered in one pile. After the 8 rounds the values of the tokens are revealed, and the player with the most points wins the game.

Before You Can Play

Each player takes a set of 3 vote cards (A, B, C) and 8 tokens (values 0 to 7) in the same colour. Place the game board in the middle of the table. Shuffle the double-sided cards and place them face down in a pile next to the game board.

Course of the Game

One of the players draws the top 3 cards from the pile, reads them aloud one at a time, and places them on A, B and C on the game board.

Each player now chooses the statement that makes him or her most annoyed, and places the matching vote card face down on the table in front of them. Next, each player chooses a token to bet on the statement they have voted for, and places it on the table in front of them with its value hidden. Choose your token based on how you think the other players feel about the statement you voted for. If you think you are the only one who favours it, bet low. If you think the others will also vote for the same statement, bet high.

All players now turn over their vote cards and reveal which statement they voted for. The statement with the most votes wins the round. The tokens bet on the winning statement stay hidden and are moved, together with the winning card, to the winners' side of the table. The two other cards from the round, and the tokens bet on them, are moved away from the game board to a common discard pile. Tokens in the discard pile are left with their values hidden.

If there is a tie, for example if two or all three cards receive the most votes and the numbers are equal, then both the cards and the tokens bet on them are moved to the winners' side of the table.

Who Wins?

After 8 rounds the game is over. Turn over all the tokens that were bet on the winning cards. Compare the score of each individual card to determine which statement annoys you the most. Then the points are added together for each colour to determine the winner of the game.

Have fun!

And now, try not to get too irritated along the way, even though there is certainly plenty to be annoyed about ;-)
