Expansion Modules

Module 1: New Tiles (Uses new Specialty tiles, new Floor Improvement tile, and new Tenant Improvement (T.I.) tiles)

The new tiles are simply added to their counterparts in the base game.

Module 2: Economic Scenario Cards and New Economic Forecast Cards (Uses Economic Scenario cards and new Economic Forecast cards)

One Economic Scenario card is drawn at random. The chosen Scenario will direct the construction of the Economic Forecast deck for the game. The new Economic Forecast cards are added as "Depression" ("Great Depression") and as "Boom" ("Windfall") to their respective decks before constructing the Economic Forecast deck.

Module 3: Event Deck (Uses Event Deck cards)

Before the game draw one Event Card at random. This card will affect one board area for the duration of the game.

Module 4: Architect's Office (Uses Architect's Office tile)

The tile adds a new area on the main board for the players to visit.

Note on notation: the designer's posts write amounts of money and Info together, such as "$2,i2" (two money and two Info). In this transcription these are rendered as "$2 and 2 Info".

Specialty Tiles

The two new specialty tiles are Social Media and Inheritance.

Social Media - Kickstart Specialty: +1 Time Marker each round

This will essentially make your CEO worth 5 Time Markers from the very beginning of the game. Talk about burning the candle at both ends. However, you don't start with any ground floor rooms remodelled. I've been playing with this tile for awhile now and it's great fun. It's strong, but not overly so.

Inheritance - Investing Specialty: Start the game with $3 and 8 Info, instead of just 7 Info

This specialty will increase your companies options at the beginning of the game. After the "Receive Income" phase, you will essentially have $12 and 8 Info. However, once again, you don't start with any ground floor rooms remodelled. Very fun.

Skyline Achievement

The new overfunding bonus is a new floor improvement called Skyline Achievement.

Skyline Achievement: 1 PP for each Floor Improvement

At the end of the game, the owner of this floor scores 1 additional prestige point for each floor improvement (including this one) they have purchased.

So, at the end of the game, if you had built 5 floors (including Skyline Achievement, but excluding your ground floor), you would receive 5 prestige points.

Niche Market

The new tenant improvement is called Niche Market.

Niche Market: Do Not Drop at Retail Outlets

This TI will be availabe during Stage II and be worth 3 PP's. It allows the owner the option of not dropping the price of their product(s) that do not sell at the Retail Outlets. This provides the benefit of selling products during a down economy (knowing that you won't lose value), undercutting opponents on the lowest bracket (knowing that you won't have to liquidate), and of course camping out on the $16 space till you sell 3 rounds later.

Added tension and player interaction at the Retail Outlets? Yes, please!

Economic Forecast Cards

The two new Economic Forecast cards are Great Depression and Windfall.

Great Depression: No one sales

This is the same for all player counts. Not 1 customer is looking to buy. Any Time Markers at the Retail Outlets would have to drop in price due to neglect. Additionally, ∞ people are looking for work, which guarantees the Job Market will bloat to the $2 and 2 Info space.

Windfall: Everyone sales

This is the same for all player counts. Every single product (Time Marker) at the Retail Outlets will sell at their current price. Additionally, -∞ people are looking for work, which guarantees the Job Market will empty to the $7 and 7 Info space.

Each game you can decide to use one or both of these cards. During the contruction of the Economic Forecast deck, you would replace 1 Depression with 1 Great Depression, and/or 1 Boom with 1 Windfall card. This would take place before shuffling each type. So, there's a chance the card(s) won't be in the final deck.

The designer's post was edited to add the Job Market information above.

Economic Scenario Cards

The new overfunding bonus is 5 Economic Scenario Cards. These are not added to the Economic Forecast deck, but rather help you customize the construction of that deck.

Before the game begins, shuffle these 5 scenario cards and flip one over. The chosen scenario will specify how to construct the Economic Forecast deck for the game. In all the following cases, replace Boom cards with Depression cards (and vice versa) as needed.

  • Roaring Twenties - Use 3 Boom cards
  • The Great Depression - Use all 4 Depression cards
  • World Wars - No Booms nor Depressions (Use only Stable & Recession Cards)
  • Internet Boom - Use all 4 Boom cards
  • DotCom Bubble - Use 3 Depression cards

So, for example, if the scenario was "Roaring Twenties", you would still separate the Economic Forecast cards into the four types, and shuffle each type. Then draw 1 Depression Card, 3 Recessions, 3 Stables and 3 Booms. Then shuffle all 10 cards like normal to create your Economic Forecast deck for the current game.

Event Cards

The new overfunding bonus is 6 Event Cards. These cards bring variability to the game and in most cases bring more competition between players to the main board.

Each Event Card alters the rules for one of the 6 main board areas. Before the game begins, shuffle these 6 cards and flip one over. The one selected event is active for the entire game and will specify how the related main board area is effected. Place the card on the board just above the area it changes as a reminder and reference.

  • Telecommunication Upgrade - Spaces cost $1 less @ Consulting Firm
  • Convention Season - Networking requires only 2 Time Marker's @ Ad Agency
  • Custom Order - Supplies can only be bought with Info @ Warehouse
  • Alternative Production - Resolve in reverse order @ Factory
  • Limited Edition - No Liquidation option @ Retail Outlets
  • Premium Construction - 1 less space is available @ Construction Co.

Architect's Office

The next overfunding goal is a tile that expands player options on the main board by adding a new area to visit - The Architect's Office. This will be a double-sided tile (3-6 Players on the front, 2 Player on the back) that sits right on the board, just above the Construction Company area. It will have 1 available space and guarantees a player first choice of improvements.

Architect's Office

Schedule Business: One player schedules business at the Architect's Office for the opportunity to acquire any available improvement of their choice. It costs $2 and 2 Info to place a Time Marker here ($3 and 3 Info in a 2 Player game).

Conduct Business: The Architect's Office is resolved after Retail Outlets, but before the Construction Company. Depending on the economy, the player with a Time Marker here, may have to pay the Architect further fees to actually acquire the improvement to build. The cost to resolve this space is $X and X Info (where X is the number of consumers that came in the current round). Since the economy is constantly changing, the Architect's Office costs fluctuate as well. If this extra cost is paid, the player may choose any available improvement (of course, normal costs to build that improvement still apply).
