  • 78 snack cards (12 blue 1s, 12 red 2s, 18 yellow 3s, 12 green 3s, and 24 purple 4s)
  • 12 action cards (4 x Gift, 4 x Steal, and 4 x Gift or Steal)

Setup

If you're playing with two to four players, sort out the cards with the dark border and return them to the box. You will not need them in this game.

With five or six players, use all 90 cards.

Shuffle the cards and spread them out face down in the center of the table. Each player draws three cards from the center into their hand.

Snack limit

Each snack shows a number in the corners of the card. This number is the snack limit. It determines the maximum number of cards of this color you may have in your hand.

Note: During setup, if you draw an action card or exceed the snack limit of your drawn cards, return the last card you drew to the center and draw a new one. Repeat if necessary until you have three cards in your hand that do not exceed the snack limit or include action cards. Then, shuffle the cards in the center again so you do not know where the returned cards are.

Example: Red cards have a snack limit of 2. During setup, Tula draws a third red card. This exceeds the snack limit, so she returns the last card to the center and draws a new one.

How to Play

Whoever last saw a goose begins.

On your turn, you must flip over a card of your choice from the center and place it face up. Each time you flip over a card, you have the choice to:

  • Keep going and flip over another card. You can keep choosing this option until there are two identical cards face up in the center. In this case, you have to take all the face-up cards into your hand and check whether you were too greedy.
  • Stop and take all the face-up cards into your hand. Your turn ends and you check whether you were too greedy.
  • Pass and leave the cards face up for the next player. Your turn ends.

Now the next player in clockwise order takes their turn. They flip over one card in the center and decide whether to keep going, stop, or pass.

Example: Brent flips over a yellow 3. He decides to keep going and finds a red 2. He continues and flips over another yellow 3. Since two yellow 3s are now lying face up in the center, Brent has to take all the face-up cards into his hand and end his turn. Brent now checks his cards and sees that he was too greedy! He already had two yellow 3s in his hand and must now discard all four yellow 3s.

Too Greedy?

Whenever you add cards to your hand, you must check whether you have exceeded the snack limit. You have exceeded the snack limit if you have more snacks of a color than the number on those cards allows. In this case, you were too greedy and must discard all snacks of this color. These cards are taken out of play.

Action Cards

The cheekiest geese still have a few tricks up their sleeve!

There are three different action cards. If you flip over an action card, you must decide whether to perform its action immediately or not to perform it at all. In both cases, the card is taken out of play and you continue your turn as normal.

  • Gift: Give one of the cards in your hand to another player. They must add it to their hand.
  • Steal: Pick another player and draw one card from their hand without looking at it. Add this card to your hand.
  • Gift or Steal: Pick another player and either give them one of the cards from your hand or draw a card from their hand.

If you exceed a snack limit due to an action card, you must discard all snack cards of that color in your hand immediately. They are taken out of play and the game then continues as usual.

Example: Roman has already revealed a purple 4 and a yellow 3. He now flips over the Steal card and decides to take a card from Brent. He draws a red 2. He doesn't want to risk exceeding the snack limit, so he decides to stop flipping over cards. He takes the purple 4 and the yellow 3 into his hand and ends his turn.

Game End and Scoring

Who hoarded the most snacks?

When you flip over the last card in the center, you take the rest of your turn as usual. Once you have finished your turn, the game ends and you add up your points.

Each card in your hand awards you 1 point, apart from the blue 1, which is worth 3 points. You can recognize this by the symbol on the card. Whoever has the most points in total wins the game!

In case of a tie, the player with the most different snacks in their hand wins. If there is still a tie, all tied players win.

Example: Brent has a blue 1, two red 2s, one yellow 3, and four purple 4s, which brings him 3+2+1+4=10 points. Tula has one blue 1, three green 3s, two yellow 3s, and one purple 4, so she has 9 points. Roman's two red 2s, three yellow 3s, and two purple 4s add up to 7 points. Brent wins!
