Setup for the Solo Game

Harlekin is used in the solo game of Glass Road (see The Solo Game in the base rulebook).

  • When you choose Harlekin for a building period, do not shuffle it with the other cards. Put it at the bottom of the shuffled stack instead.
  • Harlekin will always be one of the last two cards from which you can choose one to play for both actions.

The Harlekin Card

Harlekin is a specialist card with two abilities. Both are shown as icons on the card.

First Ability: Clear a Row

The card shows a row of building spaces with a red cross drawn over it.

  • Clear all remaining buildings in a row on the central board.

Source: the card icon, with the wording from the BGG item description ("clears all remaining buildings in a row on the central board").

Second Ability: Roll for Goods

The card shows six die faces. Each face has a number 3 beside it and a good token.

  • Roll a die.
  • Gain 3 of the good shown against the matching die face.

Source: the card icons. The rule that you roll a die and gain 3 of a resource determined by the roll is from the BGG item description ("gives you 3 of a certain resource, determined by rolling a die"). The good names are the goods of the base game, matched to the token icons on the card.

Notes on the Card

  • Harlekin originally appeared as a promotional card in Spielbox 2015/7. From 2021 editions it is included with the Glass Road base game.
  • The card's text is only icons. The wording of the setup rule and of the two abilities above is taken from the BGG item description and checked against the card icons; the card itself does not print that wording.
  • The good names in the table are read from the card's token icons and matched to the base game's goods (Food, Clay, Brick, Quartz sand, Water and Charcoal). This is a reading of the icons, not a printed list.
