Components
- 32 Pyramid cards
- 16 Character cards (4 sets of 4 cards)
- 7 Mummy cards
- 1 Explorer pawn
Preparation
- Set aside the 7 Mummy cards in ascending order on the table.
- Shuffle the Pyramid cards and set them aside.
- Place the Explorer pawn in the center of the table.
- Each player chooses a Character and takes their 4 cards, which are placed face down in a row in front of them.
Game Progression
The game has an Exploration phase, in which you enter the pyramid and search for treasures, and an Escape phase, in which you try to get out before the Pharaoh's Mummy catches you.
Exploration phase: each turn, reveal a new Pyramid card from the deck and place the Explorer pawn on it.
Escape phase: do not add new cards; only move the pawn in the opposite direction from the exploration.
Then the players must pass the test of the room that the pawn has just entered.
To do so, the players must count up to three and simultaneously show one of their cards.
Tests
There are 3 types of tests:
Scarabs: To pass it, all cards must match the depicted scarabs, and all of them must appear.
Sun and Moon: To pass it, all cards must match the depicted symbols, and all of them must appear.
Scrolls: To pass it, all players must add up to the number of the listed scrolls.
If the test is passed, proceed with the exploration. You have 3 seconds to memorize the information on your played card. Then place it back in the same position (face down) and start a new turn.
Escape from the Mummy! Place the first discarded Mummy card back on the deck.
If the test is not passed: you have stayed in the same room until you pass it. You have 3 seconds to memorize the information on your card, and then you return it face down to its position.
The Mummy approaches! Discard the first Mummy card.
Treasures
When the same 3 treasure symbols are on the table, check their power!
Now you can start the Escape phase and try to get out. However, there are 3 different kinds of treasure in the pyramid. How far do you want to go?
End of the Game
The game ends:
A) When the players have escaped from the pyramid with at least one treasure.
- 1 Treasure: Another group of explorers...
- 2 Treasures: The newspapers write about you.
- 3 Treasures: Write history!
B) When the Pharaoh moves to the front of the last card, you lose. However, you may start a new expedition and take revenge on the wicked mummy.
