Components

  • 1 rulebook
  • 4 suitcases
  • 4 sets of 13 luggage items each: insect spray, swim ring, swim trunks, beach ball, teddy bear, flippers, diving mask and snorkel, sunscreen, sun hat, board shorts, flip-flops, T-shirt, sunglasses
  • 30 destination cards

Destination card

Each card shows the required luggage, one of 4 difficulty levels, and the destination. The card has a face-down side (back) and a face-up side (front).

Gameplay

The first player to have three destination cards wins!

Setup

  1. Each of you takes a suitcase and a set of the 13 luggage items and places them in front of you.
  2. Shuffle the destination cards and place them as a face-down pile in the middle of the table. (If younger children are playing, use only the level 1 cards to start.)

Play

When you are all ready, one of you turns over the top destination from the pile and you all start packing your suitcases at the same time. To do this, each of you must take the pictured luggage items from your own set, fit them into your suitcase like a puzzle, and close the suitcase. Whoever first has packed and closed their suitcase slaps the destination card with their hand. Then the others check whether:

  • the suitcase is properly closed AND
  • all luggage items from the destination card are in the suitcase (by emptying it onto the table).

If someone made a mistake, the round continues until one of you has successfully packed their own suitcase.

Whoever first packed the suitcase correctly, closed it and slapped the destination card receives that card and turns over the next destination.

End of the game

Whoever first has three destination cards wins and can now bask in the sun and enjoy the victory!

Playing with adults

When children and adults play together, you can handicap the adults by letting them play only with their weaker hand. (The weaker hand is the right hand for left-handers and the left hand for right-handers.)

Playing alone

Set a stopwatch to 30 seconds and turn over the top destination. To win, you must pack and close the suitcase correctly before time runs out.
