Game Components

  • 7 Dice
  • 5 Canvas Boards
  • 5 Markers
  • 35 Topic Cards
  • 10 Ability Cards (including 5 Dice Number Cards)
  • 1 Exhibit card
  • 2 Rulebooks

There Are 2 Ways to Play This Game

1. Joint Exhibition (2-5 players) — Game is played over 5 rounds. Players must cooperate and correctly guess 5 titles in order to win.

2. Best Artist (3-5 players) — Game is played over multiple rounds. Game ends when a player is eliminated. The player with the most points wins.

Joint Exhibition — Game Setup

  • Each player takes a Canvas Board, a Marker, 2 Ability Cards (rotate & +1) and places them in front of themselves.
  • Place the 7 Dice in the center, making sure they are visible to all players.
  • Place all the Topic Cards facedown in a deck. This will be the Topic Deck.

Joint Exhibition — Goal of the Game

There are 5 rounds to the game; each round there is a drawing and a guessing phase. The players's common goal is to complete 5 Topic Cards. If a player guesses wrong, 1 Die will be removed from play. If there is only 1 Die left in play, the game ends.

Joint Exhibition — Gameplay

Each round starts with the Drawing Phase and then the Guessing Phase. In each phase, players play simultaneously.

Drawing Phase

  1. Roll all the Dice available, then reveal a card from the Topic Deck. The topic of this turn is decided by the symbol on the Topic Deck.
  2. Players secretly write their title, then begin drawing following the Drawing Guidelines (see box). For example: a Topic Card shows several symbols with "Food" checked; the player secretly writes the title "apple 蘋果" and then draws it using the geometric shapes indicated on the dice.
  3. When all players have completed their drawings, reveal your work at the same time. IMPORTANT: Remember to cover your title.

Guessing Phase

  1. Randomly decide a player to be the Painter and give them the Exhibit card.
  2. The Painter must now remain silent. All other players can openly discuss and debate the title of the painter's drawing. Then players take turns openly sharing their individual guess.
  3. The Painter shares the actual title of the drawing and records the results according to the Scoring Guide (see box).
  4. The next player in the clockwise order is now the Painter. The players now have to guess the title of their drawing. Repeat steps 2~4 until every player has been the Painter. Then, the round ends.

IMPORTANT At the end of the round, the players whose drawings have the same title will receive an X on their Canvas Boards.

  • Erase your drawing. Do NOT erase your check-mark and X marks. Now, check the Dice. If there is only 1 Die left, the game ends and the players lose.
  • If the game continues, reveal the next Topic Card, and begin a new round.

Drawing Guidelines

You may use the symbol on each Die ONCE. Some Ability Cards allow you to use 1 extra symbol.

Ability Cards

  • +1: Use one extra symbol. Discard this card after use.
  • +1 (skull): Use the symbol indicated once. Discard this card after use.
  • +1 (rotate): Put a removed Die back into play. Discard this card after use.

Scoring Guide

  • If all the players other than the Painter guess correctly, they all receive a check mark.
  • If any player guesses wrong, that player receives an X. And immediately REMOVES a Die.

Joint Exhibition — End of Game Condition

  • If there is only 1 Die left, the game ends and the player lose.
  • During the game, if a player receives too many X (see chart below) the game ends and the players lose.
  • If players complete 5 Topic Cards, all players share the victory.

The game ends when a player receives:

  • 4 X in a 2-Player Game.
  • 5 X in a 3-Player Game.
  • 6 X in a 4-Player Game.
  • 7 X in a 5-Player Game.

Best Artist — Game Setup

  • Each player takes a Canvas Board, a Marker, 1 Ability Card (+1) and places them in front of themselves.
  • Place the 7 Dice in the center, making sure they are visible to all players.
  • Place all the Topic Cards facedown in a deck. This will be the Topic Deck.
  • Shuffle the 5 Dice Number Cards and place them face up beside the Topic Deck.

Best Artist — Goal of the Game

The game is played over multiple rounds. Each round there is a drawing and a guessing phase. To win the game, players must correctly guess the most titles while not getting eliminated. If a player guesses wrong, he or she will receive an X. When a player receives 5 X, that player is eliminated. The game ends and scores are calculated. The player with the most points wins.

Best Artist — Gameplay

Each round starts with the Drawing Phase and then the Guessing Phase. In each phase, players play simultaneously.

Drawing Phase

  1. Roll all the Dice available. Then reveal a card from the Topic Deck. The topic of this turn is decided by the symbol on the Topic Deck.
  2. Check the current Dice Number Card. You may only use the number of Dice indicated for your drawing.

For example: The current Dice Number Card is 5. Players can only choose 5 dice for their drawing.

  1. Players secretly write their title, then begin drawing following the Drawing Guidelines (see box).
  2. When all players have completed their drawings, reveal your work at the same time. IMPORTANT: Remember to cover your title.

Reminder

ONLY the first player who says the correct answer will receive check marks.

But, if you guess wrong 5 times, you will get eliminated.

Guessing Phase

  1. Randomly decide a player to be the Painter and give them the Exhibit card.
  2. The fastest player who raises their hand can take a guess.
  3. If the player guessed wrong, he or she receives an X. The other players may now repeat step 2.
  4. If the player guesses right, the Painter reveals the title. The player who guessed correctly receives two check marks. The painter receives a check mark.
  5. If all the players guess wrong, the Painter reveals the title and receives an X.
  6. The next player in clockwise order is now the Painter. The players have to guess the title of their drawing. Repeat steps 2~6 until all players have been the Painter. The round ends.

IMPORTANT: At the end of the round, the players whose drawings have the same title will receive an X on their Canvas Board.

  • Check if the End of Game Condition (see below) is met.
  • If none of the players have met End of Game Condition, the game continues.
  • Erase your drawing. Do NOT erase your check marks and X marks. Begin the next round!

Best Artist — Drawing Guidelines

  • You may use the symbol on each Die ONCE. Some Ability Cards allow you to use 1 extra symbol.
  • Players may not reuse a title previously used by ANY player in a previous round. e.g. "Apple" was used for the topic "Fruit". It cannot be used again for the topic "Food".
  • When drawing, cover or hold your Canvas Board. Do not peek at other drawings before the reveal.

Best Artist — End of Game Condition

The game ends immediately when a player receives:

  • 5 X in a 3-Player Game.
  • 6 X in a 4-Player Game.
  • 7 X in a 5-Player Game.

Best Artist — Game End & Victory Conditions

  • During the game, if any player has met the End of Game Condition (see above), the game immediately ends.
  • The player with the most check marks wins. If there is a tie, the player with fewer X wins. If still tied, the players share victory.
  • If you run out of boxes to mark, you can mark check marks and X anywhere on the boards.
