Components

  • 1 game board
  • 12 guess cards
  • 14 move cards
  • 14 exchange cards
  • 20 child cards (5 each in red, green, blue and yellow)

Goal of the Game

The children are hidden under the ghosts on the board. The winner is the player who best remembers which ghost each child is hidden under, and so collects the most cards.

Players: 2-4. Age: from 5 years. Playing time: 15-20 minutes.

Setup

Place the game board in the center of the table. Opposite each colored sector of the game board, place the child card of the matching color face down. The white sector remains empty.

Shuffle the remaining cards thoroughly and place them as a face-down deck.

Playing the Game

The youngest player starts. Then the turn passes to the player on his left.

On his turn, a player turns over the top card of the deck and places it face up next to the deck (forming the discard pile). Depending on the value of the card, the player performs a specific action. The turn then passes to the next player.

Exchange and Move Cards

  • Exchange card (printed text): Swap the places of 2 cards around the game board, without looking at their values.
  • Move card (printed text): Move one of the cards to an empty space, without looking at its value.

Child Cards

Try to answer which child card of the same color lies near which sector of the game board. Think carefully before checking your suspected card.

After checking, the revealed card must be turned back over ghost side up and returned to its place.

  • Opened the correct card? Then you take all the open cards.
  • Opened the wrong card? Then the next player tries to guess which ghost the sought child has been turned into: he turns over a card of his own choice.
    • If he does not guess correctly, the turn passes to the next player, and so on, until one player gives the correct answer.
    • After that, the turn passes to the player to the left of the player who answered correctly.

Guess Cards

Guess Card (standard version of the game)

If there is a card on the white sector of the game board, you may try to guess which child it is.

  • Guessed correctly? Then the entire discard pile is yours.
  • Guessed incorrectly, or the white sector is empty? Then the turn passes to the next player.

Guess Card (riskier version, ages 6 and up)

If you draw a guess card, you may either do nothing and pass the turn to the next player, or take a risk and try to win many cards.

To take the risk, ask any other player which child is under the card you name.

  • If the answer is correct, that player takes all the open cards.
  • If the answer is incorrect, the cards go to you.

Then the turn passes to the player on your left.

End of the Game and Winner

If the last card in the deck is a move card or an exchange card, perform its action, and then name a child of a specific color and guess the location of this card.

The game ends when the face-down deck is exhausted and the discard pile has been won by a player. The player with the most cards wins.
