Can you make all of the 8 movements together at least once before the cheeky fox scares you?

Activity Cards

Before starting to play have a look at the eight activity cards and try them out together.

  • Hopping goose: Stand on one leg and lift the other knee. If you like, jump up and down several times.
  • Clapping goose: Clap your hands several times.
  • Wriggling goose: Jump up in the air wriggling your arms up and down.
  • Stooping goose: Squat and clap your hands behind your knees.
  • Waggling goose: Stand up, stick out your bottom and waggle it.
  • Ring around the rosie geese: Choose a child, hold hands and dance "ring around the rosie."
  • Footsie geese: Choose a child. Sit on the floor and place your feet against each other. If you like, you can make bicycling movements with your feet.
  • Waddling geese: Together yell the order "Wiggle Waggle Geese!" All players start waddling and follow a player around the table or across the room. The player who drew the card is the leader for the waddling round of play.

Now that you know all the movements you can start the game. If you want, you can naturally also copy any movements together!

Game Setup

Arrange the eight activity cards in a circle. As shown, place the fox next to the activity card showing the three waddling geese. Shuffle the meadow cards and distribute them with the meadow picture face-up around the activity cards.

How to Play

Take turns playing in a clockwise direction. The player who can cackle the most like a goose starts.

What can be seen on the uncovered meadow card?

One goose or several geese?

  • If there is one goose, stand up and carry out the movement shown; then return to your seat.
  • If there are several geese, carry out the movement with one or more players; then return to your seats.

The card is then placed face-up on the corresponding activity card. If there is already one, just place the card on top.

The little fox?

Quickly shout "Fox alert!" The fox has scared the geese and children run cackling around the table. Once all the players have returned to their seats, move the fox forward one activity card in a clockwise direction. The uncovered fox card is taken out of the game.

Then it's the next child's turn to uncover a meadow card.

End of the Game

The game can end in two ways:

  • If there is at least one meadow card on each activity card, you win together. Celebrate together and run around flapping your arms.
  • Or if the fox has made a round of the goose meadow and made it back to the card with the waddling geese, you've lost together. The fox scares you and chases you around the table one last time.

Tip:

  • The game can, of course, be played on the floor.
  • Some actions are for one child, others for multiple children.

Memory Variation

If you have played the game various times, try the following variation.

After a fox alarm, the uncovered fox card is placed back on the table face-down. Now you need to remember where the fox cards are.
