Components

  • 1 lamb (blue)
  • 1 goat (green)
  • 1 piglet (pink)
  • 1 horse (red)
  • 1 cow (black-and-white)
  • 1 chick (yellow)
  • 24 cards
  • 1 white die
  • 1 black die

Setup

  • Arrange the Roundlings in a circle so that they are not crowded and every player can easily reach them.
  • Shuffle the deck of cards and place it face down next to the Roundlings.
  • The last player who hugged an animal becomes the Farmer and the first player.

Playing a Round

  • The Farmer turns over the top card of the deck and places it in the middle of the table, inside the circle or next to the Roundlings. This card must be visible to all players. If cards remain on the table from previous rounds, they must also stay visible to the players.
  • The Farmer rolls both dice into the middle of the table so that they are visible to all players.
  • Any card showing at least one of the values rolled is considered activated, and players must grab the Roundling shown on that card (see "Clarifications on Grabbing Roundlings" below). If neither rolled value matches the pictures on the open cards, nothing happens.
  • Players who grabbed the correct Roundlings take the corresponding cards and place them face down in front of themselves.
  • After taking the cards, players return the Roundlings to their place.
  • If cards remain in the deck, the player sitting to the left of the Farmer becomes the new Farmer. They begin the new round.

Clarifications on Grabbing Roundlings

  • All open cards in the middle of the table count.
  • To activate a card, it is enough for a die value shown on it to match at least one of the rolled dice (if both dice shown on the card are rolled, the card is activated as usual).
  • All players compete in every round, and the card goes to whichever of them grabs the Roundling fastest.
  • If the same Roundling appears on several cards, the player who grabs that Roundling receives only the card that was activated in the current round.
  • If two cards showing the same Roundling are activated at once (one by the white die, one by the black die), the player who grabs that Roundling receives both cards.
  • The dice result can activate several cards at once. Players may grab all the Roundlings shown on them.
  • To grab several Roundlings at once in the same round, a player may use both hands.
  • If the dice activated a card, but the players notice this only after the new Farmer has already revealed the next card, the Roundling shown on the previous round's card can no longer be grabbed. If a matching card is activated again in a later round, it can be caught again then.
  • Cards that are not activated remain on the table, either until players take them in a later round, or until the game ends.

Mistakes

  • If a player grabs the wrong Roundling, they must randomly choose one of the cards they have already won and return it to the circle of animals face up. In the next round, this card can be activated like any other. If the player who made the mistake has no cards, they receive no penalty.
  • If a player drops a Roundling on the way (unable to carry it and set it down in front of themselves), another player may grab the dropped Roundling and take it for themselves. In the next round, the Farmer reveals a new card as usual.

End of Game

The game ends after the round in which the last card of the deck is revealed. The player or players who have collected the most cards are declared the winners.

Tiebreaker rule: If you want to determine only one winner, play one or more additional rounds among the players with the most cards, until one of them wins a card. That player is the winner!
