Goal

The goal is to fulfil orders quickly by skilfully sliding the flavour tiles around the ice cream machine, and so to collect the most ice cream cones.

Contents

  • 26 ice cream cones, each with 3 different flavours
  • 13 flavour tiles
  • 1 game board (the ice cream machine)
  • 1 die
  • 1 rulebook

Setup

  • Place the game board in the middle of the table.
  • Place the flavour tiles for the starting layout, in any arrangement, on the marked spaces of the game board. (The printed rulebook shows an example layout.)
  • Shuffle the 26 ice cream cones well. Depending on the number of players, remove cones from the game and return them to the box:
    • 2 players: remove 7 cones
    • 3 players: remove 3 cones
    • 4 players: remove 0 cones
  • Place the remaining cones as a face-down draw pile.
  • Each player draws one cone and takes it into hand, face down.

Turn Sequence

The youngest player begins, and play then proceeds clockwise. When it is your turn, you do the following:

1. Roll the Die: Yes or No?

You decide whether or not to roll the die.

  • If you roll the die, you have as many movement points available as the number rolled.
  • If you roll the die's symbol (the blue pictogram shown in the printed rulebook), you must miss a turn, but you may take one more cone from the draw pile into your hand. Note: You may hold any number of cones in your hand and fulfil the orders in any order.
  • If you do not roll the die, you have exactly 3 movement points available.

Note:

  • You may divide your movement points freely among several flavours.
  • You may move a flavour only horizontally and vertically, not diagonally.
  • 1 movement point equals moving one flavour onto an adjacent, empty space.
  • Only one flavour may occupy a space at any time.
  • You may also push a flavour off the edge of the game board. Then place the tile on the exactly opposite space of the same row or column, from where you may continue your turn. This is only possible if the opposite space is not occupied by another flavour.

2. Cone Order Fulfilled: Yes or No?

YES: If, during or at the end of your turn, you arrange three flavours in a connected, straight line on the game board that match the flavours on your cone(s) in hand, you have fulfilled the order. You may then lay that cone face up in front of you. The flavours must be arranged horizontally or vertically, not diagonally or across the edge of the game board. The order of the flavours does not matter. If you now have no cone left in hand, draw a new one from the face-down pile.

If you have movement points left over after fulfilling a cone order, you may continue your turn as normal. Then the next player takes their turn.

NO: If you could not fulfil any cone order during your turn, the next player takes their turn, and you may try your luck again the next time it is your turn.

Example: Tom decides to roll the die and rolls a 4. He moves the hazelnut and mint flavours by 1 space each, and the cherry by 2 spaces, pushing the cherry off the edge of the game board so that it is placed on the exactly opposite side, in the same row. He has now fulfilled his cone order and may lay it in front of him. Finally, he draws a new cone from the pile.

Attention: If another player, during their turn, forms a connected straight line of three flavours that by chance fulfils one of your cone orders in hand, call out loudly "FREEZE!". As proof, show everyone your cone, and you may then lay it in front of you if the combination is correct. If you now have no cone left in hand, you may draw a new one immediately. The normal turn order is not disturbed by this action.

End of the Game

The game ends immediately when a player, after fulfilling a cone order, cannot draw a new cone from the pile. The player who has collected the most cones wins. In case of a tie, there are several winners.
