Components

Contents: 1 three-dimensional game board with 2 turntables, 12 target cards, 5 radish cards, 5 game pieces, 2 special dice.

Note: the printed manual reads "l" for the number 1 in this list (an OCR-style print error); it is rendered here as "1".

Goal of the Game

Our Fraggle heroes receive new goals at the start of every game, which must be sought out in the passages and caves of Fraggle Rock. In addition, each player must bring a radish back from the Gorgs' garden. The first player to complete their tasks and return to the swimming pool with their radish wins.

Setup

Secure the middle section of the game board by inserting the support.

The starting position of the turntables is arbitrary, with one exception: the turntable in Fraggle Rock must not show the instruction "Go to the Trash Heap!" (Geh zur Müllhalde!).

Place the radish cards in the Gorgs' garden on the vegetable bed.

Shuffle the target cards face down and deal two to each player (for younger players or a shorter game, one target card is also enough). Hold the cards in hand.

Each player chooses a game piece and places it at the swimming pool. The players agree who begins (for example the youngest, or whoever rolls the highest number with the green die).

Turn Sequence

Whoever is on turn must do the following:

  1. Roll the dice!
  2. Perhaps turn the turntable!
  3. Move!

Rolling

You may choose whether to roll only the green die or both dice. The red die can bring extra points. But the turn symbol also appears much more often on it!

Turning the Turntable

If you have rolled the turn symbol, you must turn the turntable further before moving.

  • One turn symbol: turn the turntable one hole further.
  • Two turn symbols: turn the turntable two holes further.

Always turn only the turntable on the half of the game board where your game piece stands!

Note: the turn symbol is a C-shaped arrow icon printed on the dice faces.

Moving

Move your game piece as many spaces forward as the points you rolled. If you rolled only turn symbols, there are no points and you cannot move.

You may choose freely in which direction you move. You must only observe the obstacle spaces in Fraggle Rock and the traps in the Gorgs' garden.

There is no capturing. Any number of Fraggles may stand next to each other on one space.

The swimming pool may be used like any normal space.

Reaching Goals

A goal is reached when your game piece arrives on the space with the number shown on your target card. Place the target card beside the game board to show that you have completed this task. If you still have points left, you may continue moving right away.

Each player decides for themselves how and when to reach their goals: on the way to the garden or only on the way back.

Obstacle Spaces

Obstacle spaces are the round "holes" on the paths in Fraggle Rock. They change colour when the turntable is turned. When they are blue, they count as normal spaces. When they are red, you may not enter them or pass over them! You must then choose a detour.

If an obstacle space turns red while your game piece is standing on it, you may of course move that piece away on your next turn.

Go to the Trash Heap!

When this instruction appears on the turntable, your game piece must immediately move to the green space at the Trash Heap. Rolled points do not count. Only on your next turn may you move on from the Trash Heap.

Traps

The square "holes" on both sides of a trap do not count as game spaces. If the holes are green, the trap is open. If the holes are red, the trap is closed.

Through an open trap you may pass, and you may also stop in it.

If a trap is closed, you cannot pass through it. Game pieces standing in a trap when it closes remain trapped there until the trap opens again.

Important: if you are trapped, you still roll the dice. Because if you are lucky, the trap opens and you can move on!

Stealing a Radish

As soon as you reach the large radish space, take a radish card from the vegetable bed and place it in front of you. If you still have points left, you may continue moving right away.

The Shortcut

The large slide is the very fast shortcut for the way back to the swimming pool. But the jump into the well does not always succeed.

You move onto the yellow space in front of the well (remaining points are forfeited). Then you immediately roll the green die once more.

  • Turn symbol: Roll again!
  • 2 or 3: The jump succeeded! Your game piece moves directly forward to the swimming pool!
  • 4, 5 or 6: The jump failed! You move back the rolled number of spaces in the direction of the arrow.

The next time you are on turn, you may try the shortcut again.

End of the Game

The last goal at the end of the game is the return to the swimming pool. But first you must have completed your goals in Fraggle Rock and also have stolen a radish. The first player to reach the swimming pool after that has won.
