- Place the Benediction Action cards in the Action Tableau.
Special Rules
Berith's Possession of Ursula
The demon Berith has taken corporeal form by possessing Ursula, a nun. He is controlling her actions and shedding innocent blood through her. The Killer meeple as well as the health, Killer Attack and Movement Values all represent Ursula's physical body possessed by Berith. Once possessed Ursula is "killed," Berith will leave her body.
Divine Blessings
When you see the hand icon, place a black Final Health token face down on the topmost empty space on the Divine Blessings sheet and resolve the corresponding effect. This will be most commonly done by resolving the Expel Demon Action card. Divine blessings could help restore Ursula's life after Berith has been expelled from her body.
Final Health tokens on the Divine Blessings sheet cannot be removed or revealed unless specifically stated otherwise. The number of Final Health tokens is limited so there will be fewer to put on the Divine Blessings sheet if any are removed from the game by other effects, assigned to the Killer, or assigned to the Final Girl.
Note! You don't need to fill the Divine Blessing sheet with all 7 black Final Health tokens before defeating possessed Ursula. However, the more blessings you've bestowed, the more likely she is to come back to life.
Winning the Game
You must first kill possessed Ursula following the normal rules, including revealing the black Final Health token and restoring her health if necessary. Once possessed Ursula has been defeated, Berith leaves her lifeless body. To win the game, Ursula must come back from the dead.
Reveal each Final Health token on the Divine Blessings sheet. If any show health, Ursula's life is restored and you win! If all of them are blank, Ursula's soul is condemned to hell and you lose.
Blessed and Cursed Dice
The Blessed die [Blessed die icon] and Cursed die [Cursed die icon] will sometimes replace the normal dice for Horror Rolls, impacting your chances of success, and possibly even affecting your health. When you see one of these icons, replace 1 normal die with the corresponding die when performing Horror Rolls.
You will never roll both the Blessed and Cursed die in the same Horror Roll. If both icons are present but there are more of one kind than the other, you will replace 1 normal die with the corresponding die. If there is an equal number of each icon, they cancel each other out and neither die is used.
Note! The effects on the Improvise Action card also apply to the 5 on the Cursed die.
If your final Horror Roll result has a [Cursed die icon] icon, you lose [heart icon: Health]. (The number of Health lost is not legible at print resolution on the sheet.)
Malice
When you see the [Malice icon] icon on a card, place a Malice token in the Active Killer's space. If that space already has a token, place it in the closest space to the Killer without a token.
- If there are multiple Active Killers, resolve this only with the Killer closest to you.
- If there is no Killer on the board when you need to place a Malice token, reveal a random Setup card and treat the [Killer icon] space as the Killer's space for the purpose of resolving [Malice icon].
Malice tokens have a [Cursed die icon] symbol so you need to replace 1 normal die with the Cursed die when performing Horror Rolls while in spaces with Malice tokens.
When Malice tokens are removed, from playing the Benediction Action card or other effects, place the token back in the general pool.
Important! You immediately lose if all 14 Malice tokens have been placed on the board and you need to place another one.
Card Notes
Berith Cards
- Dark Power cards (3): the card shown on the sheet is "Rejecting God." Its text reads: "Lose 2 [icon] each time [icon] is resolved." The two icons are not legible at print resolution and are not transcribed. The other two Dark Power cards are not shown on the sheet.
- Epic Dark Power card ("Satanic Influence"): "During the Upkeep phase, take [icon] equal to the number of normal Victims in your space." The icon is not legible at print resolution and is not transcribed.
- Finale cards (3): the card shown on the sheet is "It wants YOU!" Its action strip is printed as icons that are not legible at print resolution, and no text is legible. The other two Finale cards are not shown on the sheet.
- Epic Finale card ("Legions of Hell"): "When a Victim is killed, [icon]." The icon is not legible at print resolution, and the action strip above the text is not transcribed.
- Terror card ("Your mother is in Hell"): the card's effect is printed as icons (a Victim, an arrow sequence and a weapon) that are not legible at print resolution and are not transcribed.
- Action card ("Expel Demon"): "May only be played while in a space with Ursula." The card carries a table of dice-result icons with a "Choose 1:" row, which are not legible at print resolution and are not transcribed. Use the printed card.
- Final Girl cards (2): the card faces shown on the sheet are "Rita" and a second card whose name is printed as "Lindi." The card text below is taken from the PDF text layer; the card faces are too small to confirm which card each block belongs to, so treat it as a provisional reading and check it against the printed cards.
- "Roll a die and then place the saved Victim to get the reward based on your result. 1-2: No save reward. 3-4: Get the reward you covered once. 5-6: Get the reward you covered twice." Move 1 Space.
- "After saving a Victim, place them on this card and roll a die. 1-2: No save reward. 3-4: Pick 1 from Group A. 5-6: Pick 1 from Group A and 1 from Group B." Move 1 Space. "When there are 6 Victims on this card, flip the card over."
L'Armes Abbey Cards
-
Event cards (10): the card shown on the sheet is "Black Mass" ("This is blasphemous!"). Its text reads: "During the Upkeep phase, [icon] if no Malice tokens were added this turn." The icon is not legible at print resolution and is not transcribed.
-
Setup cards (5): the card shown on the sheet is "Sunday Mass," a board-layout card whose spawn numbers are printed too small to read reliably. They are not transcribed; use the printed cards.
-
Item cards (18): the card shown on the sheet is "Rosary" ("That's a lot of Hail Marys."). Its text reads: "Spend 2 [icon] during the Killer phase to ignore a [icon]." Both icons are not legible at print resolution and are not transcribed.
-
Terror cards (8): the card shown on the sheet is "Lust." Its text reads: "The closest Victim to you in a space with a Malice token is killed. If you're in a space with a Malice token, you take [icons]. You may defend as normal." The icons after "you take" are not legible at print resolution. A second, separate effect on the same card reads: "A Victim in your space is killed." The icons between and beneath the two effects are not transcribed.
-
Action cards (2): the card shown on the sheet is "Benediction" ("In nómine Patris, et Fílii, et Spíritus Sancti. Amen."). Its rows read:
- Icon row 1: "Remove a Malice token from your space and all adjacent spaces."
- Icon row 2: "Remove a Malice token from your space and 1 adjacent space."
- Icon row 3: "Remove a Malice token from either your space or 1 adjacent space."
- Icon row 4: no text is legible at print resolution; it shows only a Malice icon and an icon that is not legible.
