- 1 game board
- 1 tractor
- 1 colour die
- 1 yellow time stone
- 4 landscape flats
- 16 animals + 16 stands
- 16 fences
Setup
Before you start playing, first take the box insert and the die-cut card out of the box. Carefully punch the animals, the fences and the landscape pieces out of the cardboard.
Place the animals on their stands. Place the fences next to the box. Place the box insert with the game board facing up in the bottom part of the box. Insert the landscape flats with the hilly landscape into the corners between the board and the box (see illustration).
Then place the 16 animals on the large meadow in the middle of the board.
The nine suns in total show the course of the day. Before the game begins, place the yellow time stone on the first (rising) sun. The green field with the black arrow, in the corner of the board, is the start field.
With 2 players: only 11 animals are placed in the meadow, and the time stone is placed on the third sun from the left.
Goal of the Game
Before sunset, all the animals in the meadow must be caught. So that the animals cannot escape again, they must be enclosed in a complete enclosure made of 4 fences. The player who has caught the most animals and has them safely enclosed is the winner.
Playing the Game
Play proceeds clockwise. The youngest player begins and throws the colour die. He may place the tractor on the next field of the colour thrown.
If you throw the black star, you may go to the next purple lucky field. On some coloured fields, something happens (see below).
Special Fields
The field with the tractor tracks. Here you are lucky: this road leads to the meadow, and you may catch an animal that you then place in front of you.
The field with the fence. Here you may take a fence. During the game, each player tries to collect four fences to make a complete enclosure around his animals. Only then can an animal no longer escape. Once you have a complete enclosure, you naturally do not take another fence.
The field with the escaping sheep. Oh dear! When you land on this field, an animal runs away. You must put one of your animals back in the meadow. If your animals are already in a complete enclosure, they can of course no longer escape. And if you have not yet caught any animal, none can walk away either!
The field with the sun. It is very hard to catch all the animals, especially when one keeps escaping and time flies! The hours pass quickly, so on this symbol the time stone moves one sun further to the right.
The field with the black star. If you land on the purple lucky field, you may do two things: you may catch an animal and take a fence.
Important Note
There is no fixed order that must be followed. A player may therefore catch an animal before he has any fence, and conversely may take a fence before he has caught any animal, and so on.
End of the Game
The game ends when, before sunset, all the animals have been caught, or when the time stone has reached the last (setting) sun.
The player who has caught the most animals in his complete, four-sided enclosure is the winner. It can sometimes happen that two or three players have caught equal numbers of animals; then there are several winners.
If no player has four fences, the animals have won! Perhaps they escaped too often, and it is so lucky for them to be able to stay in the lush meadow.
