Components
- 125 chips (15 chips each of values 1 to 5, 10 chips each of values 6 to 10)
- 7 scoring tokens
- 14 horseshoe cards
- 1 scoring track
- 1 bag, for the chips
Setup
Place the scoring track in the center of the table so that all players can reach it. Each player chooses a scoring token and places it next to the track. Put all the chips into the bag and mix them up. Place the horseshoe cards next to the scoring track. The first player is whoever has had a big stroke of luck recently.
Playing a Turn
Each turn is made up of three steps.
1. Score the chips lying in front of you
If you have chips lying in front of you, score points equal to the sum of the values on those chips. Mark the points on the track right away. Put all chips scored this way back in the box.
Example: (2×3) + (4×1) + (7×2) = 24 points.
2. Start drawing new chips from the bag
Now you may draw new chips. Take chips one at a time out of the bag and lay them face up in front of you. After each chip, you must decide whether to draw another one or to stop.
If you draw 2 matching chips during this step, discard all your face-up chips into the box and end your turn, skipping step 3.
However, if this happens before you have revealed your 4th chip of the turn, take a horseshoe card as a consolation bonus. If you would have to take a 3rd horseshoe card, immediately discard all your horseshoe cards and score 50 points instead.
3. Collect chips
Once you decide to stop, take from every other player all the chips of the values that are lying in front of you. These chips now belong to you — at least until someone else takes them from you in turn. This ends your turn.
If the chips in the bag run out, return the discarded chips from the box to the bag and continue the game.
Winning
As soon as a player reaches 100 points, that player wins immediately.
