What happens if I must gain a Condition or Spell I already have?

You cannot hold two copies of the same Condition. If an effect names a Condition you already have (a Dark Pact, for instance), you do not gain it, an option that requires gaining it cannot be chosen, and a reward that depends on it is lost. Players disagree on what happens when the duplicate comes from a random draw.
