Can I use Clairvoyance to encounter a Clue while monsters are on my own space?

Not directly. Monsters on your own space must be fought first, and only then can Clairvoyance serve as your additional encounter. It ignores monsters only on the target clue's space. Casting Mists of Releh first to bypass your own monsters works, then Clairvoyance reaches a remote Clue.
