Contents

  • 1 Arctic Ocean (= bottom part of game box)
  • 1 Paul Penguin
  • 14 ice floes
  • 12 ice flicking disks
  • 12 fish
  • 4 little icebergs (= deposit boards)
  • 1 flicking stick
  • Set of game instructions

Preparation of the Game

Place the Arctic Ocean between the players. In the center is a picture of Paul Penguin on an ice floe. Build up a four layer iceberg on top of Paul Penguin's ice floe.

Place one of the cornered ice floes in the center of the illustration and add another ice floe to each side of the central floe. This is the bottom layer of the iceberg. The second and third layers each consist of three ice floes and the fourth ice floe only has one.

Take a look at the illustration to see how to arrange the ice floes.

  • Bottom layer: 7 ice floes
  • Second layer: 3 ice floes
  • Third layer: 3 ice floes
  • Fourth layer: 1 ice floe

(Illustrations in the manual: "Bottom layer", "Second layer", "Third layer", "Fourth layer".)

Now place Paul Penguin on the top ice floe and distribute the fish on the iceberg by placing a fish on each remaining ice floe.

Each player takes a little iceberg (= deposit board) and an ice disk. The remaining game material is not needed and placed aside.

How to Play

Play in a clockwise direction. Whoever has eaten fish most recently, may start. Place your ice disk anywhere in the Artic Ocean and flick it with your finger or the flicking rod so that it hits the iceberg. Before flicking you can rotate the game box to the position you like.

Hint: If you are just learning how to flick, it is easier with the flicking rod. Try practicing a little with the flicking rod when the box is still empty.

Paul Penguin has toppled over or even fallen off the iceberg?

  • No? Great! Paul resisted the jostling of the ice floes. You can take all the ice floes, fish and ice disks that are lying separate from each other in the ocean.
  • Yes? What a pity! Paul has to be placed back on top of the iceberg. Distribute all the loose pieces one by one to the other players. You are not allowed to take any for yourself. Then place Paul back on one of the ice floes of what's left of the iceberg.

Watch out: You can only take or distribute pieces that lie separate and that are not touching any other ice floes.

(Illustrations: "Separate: Ice floe (upper picture edge), two fish, ice disk". "Not separate: Ice floe with fish on top (left picture edge), fish and ice floe (right picture edge): These floes are in contact.")

Then it's the turn of the next player to place an ice disk in the Arctic Ocean and flick it at the iceberg.

Important Arctic Iceberg Hustling Rules

  • If any items accidentally fall over or off while rotating the game box or when taking pieces off the ocean, the player in question has to stack these pieces back onto the iceberg and place Paul on top. Then it's the turn of the next player.
  • Sheets of ice or fish that fly out of the game box during flicking are placed once again on the iceberg.
  • You are allowed to change Paul's location and place him on a different ice floe if you return one of your collected items and place it on the iceberg.
  • You can also use ice floes you have collected for flicking.
  • In the unlikely event that a player is left without an ice disk or ice floe to use for flicking, he can carefully take a disk from the sea and use it.

End of the Game

The game ends as soon as Paul Penguin is left standing on one ice floe.

All players pile up the ice floes, ice disks and fish that they have collected. The player with the highest stack wins the flicking game!
