Game Contents
- 1 game board with 49 hollows;
- Sets of two colors of 11 balls each:
- 1 Comet: the large ball;
- 10 Satellites: small balls, linked in pairs by chains (3 pairs with a long chain, 2 with a short chain);
- Rules of the game.
Object of the Game
Capture the opponent's Comet.
Setup
The players choose the color they will play and place their pieces in the starting position as shown in Figure 1. The player with the light pieces starts the game.
Playing the Game
Players take turns. On their turn, a player moves one of their pieces:
- one of their Satellites, no farther than its chain allows, without changing the location of the Satellite linked to it (Figures 2a and 2b);
or
- their Comet, to a free adjacent hollow (Figure 3).
If a Satellite is moved so that the chain attached to it covers the chain of other Satellites (the player's own or the opponent's), the Satellites connected by the covered chain are blocked. Satellites blocked in this way cannot be moved until their chain is freed (Figure 4).
A Comet may be moved across the chains of Satellites of its own color, but not across the chains of the opponent's Satellites (Figure 5).
End of the Game
A player must end their turn in a position such that next to their Comet there is at least one free hollow, the path to which is not blocked by a chain of the opponent's Satellites. If this is impossible, the player immediately suffers defeat (Figures 6-8).
Length of the Game
Approximately 15 minutes.
