- 10 dwarf cards (Zwergen-Kärtchen)
- 10 dwarves (figures)
- 8 clovers (Kleeblätter)
- 3 dice (colour dice)
Setup
Before the first game, punch the dwarves, the dwarf cards and the clovers out of the punch boards.
Before each game, shuffle the 10 dwarf cards thoroughly and lay them out face down, picture side down, so that everyone can reach them easily. You may arrange the cards in a grid (see illustration) or simply lay them out freely, whichever you prefer.
Place the 10 dwarves face up, in no particular order, next to the cards. Leave a small gap between the dwarves so that they can be picked up easily.
Then put the clovers and the dice ready, and the game can begin.
Goal of the Game
You all play at the same time. After each dice roll, search the 10 dwarves as quickly as possible for the dwarf that matches the rolled colour combination. Whoever does this first then tries to find the same dwarf among the face-down cards and win a clover.
How to Play
The youngest player begins. He rolls all three dice at the same time. Now everyone looks at the rolled colours and tries to find as quickly as possible the dwarf lying face up whose cap, jacket and trousers match the rolled colour combination.
Example: Among the 10 dwarves lying face up there is only one dwarf whose clothing has exactly this combination of the three colours. This is the dwarf that must be found first.
The player who first touches the correct dwarf with a finger takes that dwarf in one hand and may then, with the other hand, turn over any one face-down card. There are now two possibilities:
- The dwarf on the turned card is the same as the dwarf in your hand. Super! You may take a clover and place it in front of you. Turn the card face down again and return the dwarf to the other dwarves.
- The dwarf on the turned card is NOT the same as the dwarf in your hand. Turn the card face down again and return the dwarf to the other dwarves. Now the next player clockwise is up with the dice.
End of the Game
The game ends when one of you has 3 clovers lying in front of him. That player is the winner.
