The Dragonfly

Written rules text (BGG item description):

The Dragonfly moves one space up onto the Hive. Once on top of the Hive it must then move onto any adjacent piece and continue moving in a straight line in the same direction until it drops back down to ground level at the end of the row.

Rules diagram (titled "Dragonfly"):

• The Dragonfly can move both around AND on the hive:
  • First it moves 1 space forward.
  • Then it moves 1 space forward-left OR forward-right.
• The Dragonfly carries 1 piece directly underneath itself when moving from the hive to the ground level.

Discrepancy Between the Sources

The two sources do not describe the same movement:

• The written text says the Dragonfly moves one space up onto the Hive, then moves onto any adjacent piece and continues in a straight line in the same direction until it drops back down to ground level. It does not mention carrying a piece.
• The diagram says the Dragonfly moves 1 space forward and then 1 space forward-left or forward-right, and that it carries 1 piece directly underneath itself when moving from the Hive to the ground level. Its arrows show the forward-left and forward-right options as separate moves from the starting hex.

The written text and the diagram cannot both be followed. Players should agree which version to use before play; this transcription does not choose between them.
