Components Discordia Diana
- 5 woods boards
- 45 hunters
- 2 privileges
- Janus tile
- 22 stars
- 10 forest expansions
- 18 hunting grounds (some are printed double-sided; the back side always shows the same dice value, but without the deer symbol)
- 2 decrees
- 2 military towers
Preparation
Mix the 18 hunting grounds with the other city tiles and form several stacks next to the game board with all the city tiles as usual.
If a double-sided hunting ground appears when laying out the city tiles, it is always placed in the tile row with the deer symbol facing up.
Everyone takes a woods board and places it directly under their city map.
Lay out the new forest city expansions with the other city expansions. In a two-player game, you need 4 forests; 6 in a three-player game; and 8 in a four-player game. Put any surplus forests back in the box.
Mix the new privileges, decrees, and military towers with those from the base game. Lay out the appropriate number.
When playing the Discodia [sic] base game, put 35 hunters into the bag. When using the Discordia Magna expansion, put 40 hunters into the bag.
Stars: You require 2 additional stars per player. For 2 players, a total of 28 stars (24+4), for 3 players, a total of 42 stars (36+6), and for 4 players, a total of 56 stars (48+8). Place the required stars on the Star Cult space. Take 6 stars from this space into your reserve. The rest of the game proceeds as in the base game.
Description
With the hunters, there is now a fifth worker color: green. Hunters can only be sent to city tiles that show gray and/or green workers.
When swapping workers - or when you are allowed to put workers back into the bag - you can always put hunters back into the bag.
You usually send workers to a hunting ground using the special dispatch side action (→ base game rule book, p. 7, 2.2.1).
When you see the following icons, you can send workers directly to a hunting ground. (The icons show a worker arrow pointing into a green hunting ground space and into a gray one.)
Woods board
Place the woods board directly below your city map. It consists of the hunting success track with a wild boar symbol on the left and the city area on the right.
The wild boar represents the hunting success track on the left side of the woods board. The deer represents the new forest city expansion and the city tile hunting ground.
Forest expansion
The forest is a city expansion that you obtain like all other city expansions through the main action, take city expansion (→ base game rule book, p. 7, 2.2.3). Each forest provides space for one hunting ground city tile (green).
At the start of the game, each player already has one forest pre-printed on the woods board.
Additional forests being acquired during the game are placed immediately to the right of this.
City tiles hunting ground
The hunting grounds offer space for hunters (green) or any workers (gray). Some hunting grounds are printed double-sided (like ships in the base game). When laying them out below the game board, they are always laid out with the deer symbol facing up.
If a hunting ground is completely occupied with workers, these workers are returned to the bag at the end of your turn (1). Then flip over the hunting ground once in its place (2). By flipping it over, you receive the one-time rewards shown (3).
When you flip a hunting ground, you receive exactly one of the following rewards:
- All of your inactive manipulators are immediately flipped back to the active side. They are available to you again for the rest of the year (1) or
- You take one star from the Star Cult space into your supply (2).
These rewards are already indicated on the front of the tile.
In addition, you place one of your stars on the first free space (from left to right) on the hunting success track and receive the bonus shown above.
Note: You must wait until the next season to send workers back to the hunting ground that has just been flipped over.
Solo version Discordia Diana
Preparation
Mix the new Janus tile with all the other Janus tiles.
Mix the components of the Discordia Diana expansion (towers, city tiles, privileges, and decrees) with the components from the base game and lay out the appropriate number (number of players) as usual.
Put the green workers with all other colored ones into the black worker bag.
You need 3 new forest city expansions. In addition to the 16 stars, you require 2 more stars, making a total of 18. Take a woods board and place it directly below your city map.
The rest of the game setup remains unchanged.
Setup solo version
The gameplay and objective remain the same. When the new Janus tile is drawn, one star from the Star Cult space and one of the forest expansions will be removed.
Discordia for five
Game components required:
- 60 stars (Star Cult space)
- 160 workers (40 per color); with Discordia Magna, 180 workers (45 per color)
- 10 expansions each: port, fort, marketplace, farmland

- 9 towers each: military towers, trading towers

You need 40 workers of each color or 45 workers if you play the Diana and Magna expansions together.
Gameplay: The gameplay is the same as when playing with fewer players.
