Setup

Each player chooses a character board to set in front of them.

Place the Museum Board in the center of the table, so that each player has a dino display section in front of them.

Shuffle the deck of Dino cards, and deal 2 to each player. Players keep these hidden from everyone else. Place the remaining Dino cards face down in the draw pile spot on the Dig Site board. Note the discard spot to the left.

Place the Dig Site Board nearby, where players can reach it. Put all the Bone Tiles into the Dirt Sack, and shuffle them. Draw 4 random Bone Tiles from the Dirt Sack, and place them with the green hand icon side up, in the dirt pit on the Dig Site board.

Set the Security Meeple aside.

The player who last saw a real dino skeleton takes the first player meeple and goes first (or choose a player randomly).

TIP: Blue Bone tiles are common bones (they are found more often). Red Bone tiles are rare bones (these are harder to find, and usually the ones most players want to steal!) Each dino display requires at least one 1 rare bone to complete.

Game Play

On their first turn, Player 1 chooses 1 of the following 3 actions:

DIG: Take 1 bone tile from the dig site and place it in the bone collection spot, on the right side of their player board, with the green hand icon facing up. If they take this action, they draw 1 tile from the dirt sack to replace it on the dig site, green hand facing up. Note: There should always be 4 available bone tiles in the dig site, at the start of each player's turn.

PLAN: Draw 1 dino card from the face-down deck, and add it to their hand of dino cards.

CLEAR: Remove all 4 bones tiles from the dig site board and set them aside. Draw 4 new bone tiles from the dirt sack, and place them with the green hand icon facing up. Discard back to the dirt sack the previous bone tiles that were set aside.

After that first turn, each player chooses 1 of the following 5 actions on their turn (Dig, Steal, Make, Plan or Clear):

DIG: Take 2 bone tiles from the dig site, and place them green hand icon side up on their player board. IMPORTANT NOTE: Players can only have 4 bone tiles on their board at any time. If they take more bone tiles than they have room for, they must discard extra bone tiles back to the dirt sack at the end of their turn.

STEAL: Take 1 bone tile with a Green hand icon showing from another player's board. That player then places the security meeple on their board and they may NOT be stolen from until ANOTHER player without the security meeple is stolen from (after which that player then takes the security meeple). Once they take this bone tile, they place it on their player board with the RED hand icon showing face up (on the reverse side). Bone tiles with RED hand icons may NOT be stolen again.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Players may still discard bone tiles from their board, that show a RED hand icon. This symbol only indicates that it may not be stolen while the player has it on their board.

MAKE: Discard bone tiles, from their player board, that match all of the bone symbols on a dino card in their hand. A player may only do this if they have all 3 bone tiles needed to create the dino. They place the dino card face up on the left side of their player board, then take a meeple matching this dino and place it on one of the three pedestals in their section of the museum. Once a dino meeple has been placed, it may not be removed or stolen. NOTE: There are only 2 dino meeples of each dino. Once the 2nd meeple is on the board, no one else may build this dino.

Discard parts needed to make the dino back into the dirt sack.

PLAN: Draw 1 dino card from the face-down deck.

IMPORTANT NOTE: A player may never have more than 3 dino cards in their hand at the end of their turn. If they have more than 3, they must discard the extra card(s) face up to the left of the dino draw deck. A player may have 3 cards in their hand at the start of the turn, draw 1 dino card, then discard the dino card they do not wish to keep. If a player draws the last card of the face down dino deck, shuffle the face-up cards and place them face down to create a new draw deck.

CLEAR: Remove the 4 Bone tiles from the Dig Site board and set them aside. Draw 4 new Bone tiles from the dirt sack. Discard back to the dirt sack the previous bone tiles that were set aside.

End of a Player's Turn

Once a player has taken 1 of the above 5 actions, their turn ends. Play passes to the next player, who chooses 1 of the 5 actions above. Play continues in this manner in clockwise order until a winner is declared.

Winning the Game

Once a player has placed a 3rd dino meeple in their section of the museum, their display is completed, and they win the game! Their reward? A job offer from Dawson!
