About the Game

In each round one of the participants becomes the active player. This player takes a square token showing one of 6 symbols and shows it to nobody. He then tries to roll three marbles into the gate bearing that symbol, while the other players must guess which gate he is aiming for.

The more often you roll the marbles into the right gate, and the better you guess the intentions of the others, the more points you get. The goal of the game is to advance furthest on the score track and become the winner of the dragon tournament!

Setup

Place the castle in the centre of the table. Each player takes 6 cards and a dragon of one colour. Attach your dragon to the edge of the game board at the first space of the score track. Shuffle the square tokens and stack them face down. Put the marbles nearby.

How to Play

Play passes clockwise. The game is started by whoever most recently petted a dragon. What, you have never petted a dragon? Really? Well then, the oldest player is the first to become the active player.

The active player takes the castle and places it in front of him. Then he places the marbles in the special holes. The active player takes the top token of the stack secretly, looks at its face without showing it to anyone. It shows a symbol corresponding to the gate into which he must roll the three marbles. The active player pushes the marbles one at a time so that they roll into that gate.

Now the other players must guess which gate he was trying to roll the marbles into (it does not matter which gate they actually went into). Each player chooses from his hand the card with the corresponding symbol and places it in front of him face down.

Everyone simultaneously turns their chosen card face up, and the active player reveals his token. Now the players compare their cards with the token and count points:

  • Active player: for each marble that ended up in the correct gate, the active player moves his dragon one space forward on the score track.
  • Other players: each player who guessed the symbol correctly moves his dragon one space forward.

New Round

The active player sets the played token aside, and the players take their cards back into their hands. Play passes to the next player clockwise and a new round begins, played by the same rules.

End of the Game

The game ends as soon as every player has been the active player three times. The player who has moved his dragon furthest on the score track is the winner. In case of a tie there are several winners.
