Immediate Building: Oktoberfest
- Cost: 2 Wood, 2 Glass
- Points: 3
Carry out the following action as many times as you wish, or not at all:
- Remove one directly adjacent landscape tile (a Pit, Grove or Pond) from your Landscape board.
- For each Pond removed, gain 4 Water.
- For each Pit removed, gain 4 Quartz sand.
- For each Grove removed, gain 4 Wood.
Rotate the Production wheels after each action if necessary.
Note on the cost: the cost is printed only as icons. The two cost icons are a wood icon and a green icon, and the green icon is read as Glass using the colour key of the Advent Calendar expansion's rules sheet. No written source names the second cost good, so this reading is a judgment call.
Immediate Buildings
Oktoberfest is an Immediate building. The Dutch excerpt calls this type "direct buildings" (Directe gebouwen); it is named "Immediate buildings" here to match the English base rulebook. The Dutch excerpt states the general rule as follows.
Immediate buildings are recognised by the beige frame that looks like parchment. After you build an Immediate building, you must carry out its one-time effect immediately. Once this has happened, the building is not used again in the game (except the Tavern).
Designer's comment printed alongside the rule in the Dutch excerpt: "Immediate buildings look a lot like the character cards: you pay something to receive something else. After that, your decisions are no longer influenced by them. You can build them either early or late in the game."
The base Glass Road rulebook gives the same rule for Immediate buildings, and the Tavern can carry out the one-time effect of an adjacent Immediate building.
