Guidelines for Detectives

The instructions for each case are provided by your client and contained within the package you receive. Make sure you follow these instructions and do what your client wants you to do. Don't do anything that your client wants you to avoid.

Everything in each package will only be used for the current objective. Nothing in the package needs to be saved and used in future packages. If you haven't used a piece of evidence or a file from the case then it would be a good idea to take a second look at it and see what you've missed.

We encourage you to examine everything you are sent and explore any websites.

Rules

You can open everything you have access to (envelopes, folders, packages, etc) in any order you like, but if something is padlocked, do not force it: try to find the code. Breaking equipment without solving the puzzles will spoil your enjoyment of the game.

Great detectives avoid guessing. They know that the answer lies somewhere within the evidence provided.

Technology

Using internet searches and other digital tools is not only allowed, but is sometimes essential. Just like a real detective, you must use every tool you have at your disposal. However, nothing within the boxes will require you to search the internet to find a specific individual or website – we'll always provide you with direct links. You may, however, need to search for something general, such as the name of the river that flows through Berlin.

By providing direct links, coupled with our hope that other detectives will keep any spoilers to themselves, this should prevent you from accidentally discovering any answers.

When attempting to solve a case you will require: an internet enabled device, an email account and the ability to make phone calls and send either SMS or WhatsApp messages.

When emailing characters in the game, always email using the same email address. The system that we use tracks the users progress, so emailing off a different account when half way through the game may result in an incorrect response.

Team Size

Each of our missions can be tackled by an intelligent group of like-minded detectives OR, can be enjoyed solo if you prefer to work alone.

Help!

If you do get stuck, try our Reddit forum or Facebook group to engage with other detectives.

Alternatively, there is another way to obtain help. We hand all of our cases over to our in-house super-sleuth, Lucid Montgomery. Lucid makes notes on each one, so if you do need some guidance you can look at what Lucid's written.

Missing Components

You can view the contents of each of our packages on the publisher's website.

If anything is missing, please email the publisher ([email protected]).

Technical Issues

If you're having technical problems, check the publisher's list of known technical issues.
