What's in the Box

• 4 Rainbow Fish (each a 4-piece puzzle)
• 40 colorful scales
• 16 glittering scales
• 1 fabric pouch

Before You Begin

Each Rainbow Fish has its own color on the back. Take all four pieces of one fish and assemble them into a complete puzzle. Place one Rainbow Fish in front of each player. Any extra Rainbow Fish go in the center of the table. They'll join in the game too but don't belong to anyone.

Put all the colorful scales into the pouch. Place the glittering scales in the center as a shared supply.

Let's Get Started!

Take turns playing in a clockwise direction. Has anyone ever been to the sea? You start and take the pouch. Pull one scale from the pouch without looking inside.

Now take a close look: What symbol is shown on the scale?

• If it matches a symbol on your Rainbow Fish: Great! Place the scale color-side up on the matching symbol on your fish.

• If it doesn't match or the symbol is already filled on your fish: Gift the scale to another Rainbow Fish that still needs it (this includes the extra fish in the center that belong to no one). Place the scale on the correct symbol on that fish.

  As a reward, you receive a glittering scale! Place it on one of the star symbols on your own Rainbow Fish.

  Note: If you already have four glittering scales, you can't collect any more.

Then, the next child takes the pouch and it's their turn.

When Does the Game End?

The first player to fill all the symbols on their Rainbow Fish wins the game!
