  • 8 Super-Villain cards
  • 23 Main Deck cards
  • 1 rules card

The cards of each expansion are numbered according to their original release order.

Setup

Each player begins the game by taking a Birds of Prey Super Hero.

Then choose any Main Deck from a DC Comics Deck-Building base set, shuffle it and split it into 2 piles. Shuffle the 23 new Birds of Prey Main Deck cards into one of the 2 piles, then place this pile on top of the other, thus creating your Main Deck. This lets you get the maximum amount of Crossover.

The Super-Villain cards cost from 8 to 15. Make them into a face-down pile, sorted in descending order, so that Talia al Ghul is at the bottom of the pile (blue card back) and Harley Quinn is at the top, then turn Harley Quinn face up.

Rotated Cards

New mechanic: Rotated cards. In this expansion, many effects will rotate your cards. You can use this ability to trigger other effects. A rotated card is a game card that is not "upright", that is, not in its normal play position. Super Hero cards are never rotated. You cannot rotate a card unless a card effect allows you to. When you rotate a card, by default rotate it 90° clockwise, unless specified otherwise. Rotated cards function normally.

The rules card illustrates one card upright and three cards rotated, captioned "Upright" and "Rotated".

Cards with an Ongoing effect are called Ongoing cards. Rotated Ongoing cards remain in play at the end of the turn and keep their position. These are the most interesting cards to rotate, although any card can be rotated. When you play a card, it becomes a card you control. Following an effect that asks you to rotate a card, you may choose any card you control. When a card leaves play, it loses its Rotated status. All cards enter play upright, but this does not count as returning upright (so they do not trigger their effect).

Several Ongoing cards in this expansion offer a bonus "when this card returns upright". This generally happens when the card rotates a 4th time. Once upright, this card does not leave play unless the card specifies it. If a card must rotate several times while passing through the "Upright" position, the card's effect triggers.

Specific Card Clarifications

Batwoman: The cost reduction does not stack if you control several cards of the same type.

Clock Tower: The active player finishes their turn, then you play the next turn. When your bonus turn ends, the turn returns to the player to the left of the previous player.

Cupid: You choose the cards after each opponent has chosen whether to defend. If a card rotates upright, the effect activates for the opponent who controls it, not for you. You are not required to choose a card for each opponent.

Lady Shiva: You may destroy up to 2 cards in each of the indicated zones, so up to 6 cards in total.

Livewire: Only rotations that occur after you play this card count.

Martial Arts Expert: If this card leaves play, put all cards placed under it into the destroyed pile.

Poison Ivy: For example, if you have four Weakness cards, you may give one to player A, none to player B, and three to player C.

Talia al Ghul: For example, the Ongoing effects of Cheetah, Talia and the Clock Tower, as well as the ability of Black Canary, do not activate.
