- 9 figures in 3 different colours, shapes and sizes
- 107 quiz cards
- 1 "Punch" card
- 1 die
Object of the Game
Speed as well as brainpower is required here: listen carefully, answer the question fastest, and receive the quiz card as a reward.
The first player who owns 7 cards wins the game!
Setup
- Place the "Punch" card in the middle of the table, within reach of all players, and arrange the figures in a circle around it. The figures must not keep you from hitting the "Punch" card.
- Shuffle the quiz cards well and place them ready as the draw pile.
- The craziest player begins and is the first moderator!
The Moderator
The moderator:
- rolls the die and then reads the question aloud
- decides in case of a tie
- is always just and fair! (Unless someone bribes him with cookies …)
Gameplay
The moderator takes the top card from the draw pile and rolls the die. The die result shows the moderator which row to read aloud: row 1 (red), row 2 (yellow), row 3 (green), row 4 (blue), or the DAWAK symbol (purple).
Caution! The cards are printed on both sides. So that no fellow player can peek, the moderator should always use the side that was face-down on the draw pile.
The other players then try to win the quiz card! The moderator does not play. The first player who can name the correct answer or solve the task receives the card and places it in front of them.
Questions
Get ready for questions on culture, sports, letter puzzles, joke questions and much more!
To answer, a player must hit the "Punch" card. The player who hit it first must name the answer within 3 seconds.
- If the answer is correct, the moderator confirms it. The player receives the card as a reward and places it in front of them.
- If the answer is wrong, or the player gives no answer within the 3 seconds, they must give up one of their cards as a penalty. Then the player who hit the "Punch" card second may answer, and so on. Each player may answer only once.
If nobody wants to answer, or all players answer wrongly, the card leaves the game. Then the next player clockwise becomes the new moderator, and so on.
Caution! The moderator must not reveal the correct solution too early.
Example: the example card asks "Which zodiac sign does someone have who has a birthday on 9 January?" The sample answers shown beside it are Capricorn, Cancer and Taurus.
Note: some questions have more than one correct answer. The card then shows a selection of example answers. If a player names an answer that is not listed and you are unsure whether it is right, the moderator decides in case of doubt.
DAWAK
When the DAWAK category is rolled, it is good form for everyone to shout "DAWAK" out loud!
Pantomime! Singing! Snatching figures! Many crazy tasks await you …
With DAWAK you do not have to hit the "Punch" card. Instead, the players may try to solve the tasks immediately. There are 2 kinds of task:
- Either the moderator has to act something out, hum, sing, etc. The other players try to guess the term. Guessing several times is allowed.
- Or the players have to snatch the figures on the table or something in the room. Some of these tasks let a player lose one quiz card and win one at the same time. This can also happen to the same player.
Caution! Sometimes tasks are also hidden among questions 1–4 (e.g. "Sing a song by Britney Spears"). Here too you do not have to hit the "Punch" card.
End of the Game
The first player who owns 7 cards ends the game as the winner.
The Figures
During the game you often have to snatch the figures, e.g. for DAWAK or to resolve ties. Each figure appears three times, in three sizes (small, medium and large) and three colours (blue, red and yellow).
- Glubschauge (Bulgy Eye): has good ears, a watchful eye, a small stubby tail and a mouth. Smiles mischievously but does not show its teeth.
- Zahnstein (Tartar): has no ears. Likes to show all of its teeth when laughing and watches you closely as you solve the exciting tasks.
- Tom Tatze (Tom Paw): by profession a hand. Has no eyes, no mouth and no ears, but can go in for close physical contact.
