Do I pay coins to place a tent, and does the first tent give a reward?
The rulebook says pay the location's printed penalty and use the personal board's icons.

You pay only the Coin penalty printed on the tent space you use; some spots at a campsite are free. Tents come off your personal board from the top down, and the first tent's spot may show no action, so it gives nothing extra.
