If I decline a Correspondence reward, do I still remove half my Stamps?

Contested. The rulebook says the reward is optional ("may") and only players who performed a majority reward remove Stamps, so declining would keep them. A 2024 note in an unofficial community FAQ, said to relay a designer reply, says Stamps must be removed anyway, and that the rulebook will be changed. Neither reading has a verifiable publisher post; the printed rule favors keeping the Stamps. A declined reward does not pass to the next player.
