Objective
The game is played in pairs. It is divided into several rounds; at the end of each round the winning team scores. The winner is the team that reaches 10 points.
Points are obtained by forming a complete dragon, that is, by putting together the head, the wings, the body and the tail. The cards show the different body parts of different dragons.
The player's partner must be the only one to announce, first, that his partner has a dragon and, second, the type of dragon.
Types of Dragons
DRAGON – consists of a head, wings, body and tail ALL of the same colour, including at least one multicolour card. Worth 1 point; the partner must announce "DRAGON".
ROYAL DRAGON – consists of a head, wings, body and tail of the same colour WITHOUT including any multicolour card. Worth 3 points; the partner must announce "ROYAL DRAGON".
WILD DRAGON – consists of a head, wings, body and tail that are all multicolour cards. Worth 6 points; the partner must announce "WILD DRAGON".
How to Play
Deal 5 cards to each player. At the start of each round, each person drops one card into the centre of the table. Then the players must exchange their cards, one by one, for the cards in the centre. There is no turn order! Each player throws down a card and takes another as fast as possible. If a player successfully completes a dragon, he will have to signal to his partner to indicate that he has a dragon. The partner will have to say the corresponding type of dragon.
Once a dragon is announced, play stops. The player reveals his cards. If he has a dragon, the team wins the corresponding points; if he does not have one, the rival teams win 1 point each.
If a player suspects that a rival team has completed a dragon and has not yet announced it, this player can say "counter-dragon". Play stops at that moment and all the opponents reveal their cards; if any of them has a dragon, the player who made the announcement scores the points of that dragon. If he is wrong, the rival teams score 3 points.
After each round, the cards are shuffled and play starts again.
No Dragon?
If at any time during the game a player asks the other players "no dragon?", and every player answers "no dragon", play stops and one additional card is dealt to each player; they each place one of their cards in the centre, so that the reserve on the table becomes larger. If any player remains silent, play continues normally and no additional cards are dealt.
