Components

  • 1 chicken coop (the roof can be removed by sliding it upward)
  • 1 sheet of stickers
  • 1 farmer die
  • 2 egg dice
  • 36 eggs (6 each in 6 different colours)

The coop has six egg compartments in its front, from which eggs of the matching colour come out one at a time. On top of the roof, slots allow the egg supply of each colour to be filled. On the right side of the coop is the chimney, which serves as the dice tower. In its packaged state, the chimney holds the 3 dice and the 36 eggs.

The chicken coop's parts are labelled as follows: the egg supply on the roof, the chimney on the right, and the egg compartments in the front. The area in front of the coop where eggs are placed is the chicken yard (Hühnerhof).

Setup

Before the first game:

  1. Stick the stickers with coloured eggs onto the front of the chicken coop from left to right, in this order: orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, red. The colour of each sticker must match the colour of the eggs in the nest on the roof. Stick the large, oblong sticker on top of the roof of the chicken coop. Stick the last sticker onto the last free area on the front of the coop, above the exit of the dice tower.
  2. Place the chicken coop in your play area so that everyone can see and reach the front of the coop.
  3. Take out the 3 dice and the 36 eggs from the chimney (dice tower), where they are stored in their packaging.
  4. Press all 6 egg compartments in the upper area so that they stand at an angle.
  5. Place the 6 eggs of each colour in the egg supply of the matching colour.

Note: Each individual egg supply can only hold 6 eggs once you have completed step 4 above.

Overview

Take turns playing the role of Dali and try to collect eggs. When it is your turn, roll the 3 dice. Depending on the dice result, you must choose 1 egg colour that you have not yet chosen during this turn. If this is possible, you may roll again or stop rolling and collect the chosen eggs. If it is not possible, you must end your turn without collecting any eggs. The first player to collect 10 eggs wins.

Game Flow

The player who most recently ate an egg takes the first turn. After that, play continues clockwise until the end of the game.

On your turn, carry out the following steps:

1 Roll the dice. Roll all 3 dice at once in the chimney.

2 Place the dice. Place the farmer die and the two egg dice in the matching area in front of the chicken coop, the chicken yard.

3 Choose 1 egg colour. Choose 1 egg colour according to the following rules (even if you could choose several colours, you may choose only 1):

Rules for choosing an egg colour:

You may choose:

  • a colour shown on one of the two egg dice, or
  • if possible, the mixed colour made from the colours shown on the two egg dice.

You may not choose:

  • the colour shown on the farmer die, and
  • a colour of which an egg already lies in the chicken yard.

If, according to the rules above, you cannot choose a colour, continue your turn at 4b. Otherwise, continue at 2.

Note: You may only mix the colours of the two egg dice. You may not use the farmer die for this.

Tip: At the lower end of the roof it is shown which 2 colours you need for each of the 3 mixed colours.

2 Press the egg compartment of the chosen colour in the lower area until the egg in the compartment has slid down and has clicked into place. Then press the egg compartment in the upper area so that the egg slides out of the compartment.

3 You may not yet collect the egg. Leave it for now in the chicken yard. Continue your turn at 4a.

4a Keep rolling or stop and collect eggs?

If you were able to choose a colour, decide on one of the following 2 options:

  1. Keep rolling: Carry out steps 1 to 3 again.
  2. Stop and collect eggs: Take all eggs lying in the chicken yard (at most 1 of each colour) and place them face up in front of you, visible to everyone.

4b Unable to choose a colour

If, according to the rules under 3 and 1, you cannot choose a colour, you must end your turn without success. Then return the eggs lying in the chicken yard to their respective supplies.

Note: It can happen that no egg of a colour is left in the supply. In that case, no egg comes out of the chosen compartment. You may nevertheless continue at 4a. To show that you have already chosen this colour during your turn (and may therefore not choose it again), press the egg compartment in the lower area so that it stands upright. (All other compartments stand at an angle by comparison.)

Illustrated examples from the rulebook:

  • A: A green and a blue egg already lie in the chicken yard, so these colours can no longer be chosen.
  • B: A yellow egg cannot be chosen, because the farmer die prevents it.
  • ▶ No colour can be chosen, so the turn must end without success.

6 End of turn

Translator's note: the printed step numbering goes 4a, 4b, then 6; no step 5 appears in the original text.

Your turn ends when you have carried out either:

  • 4a → 2 "Stop and collect eggs", OR
  • 4b "Unable to choose a colour".

The next player clockwise now takes their turn, beginning with 1 "Roll the dice".

End of the Game

The game ends immediately, and the player who first collected 10 eggs is the winner.

Closing text from the rulebook: Great, that was a successful raid. But Dali needs even more eggs. Why not try your luck again right away!

Variant: Farmer Salvador Goes Shopping (Simpler Variant)

The game flow remains unchanged. The only difference is that in this variant you do not use the farmer die. You use only the two egg dice.

Packing Up

Pack the dice and eggs into zip bags and put them into the chimney. Press all egg compartments in the lower area so that they stand upright, and fold the chicken yard upward. Finally, put the lid on the chicken coop.
