Badges

When Units obtain a Battle Cry RWB, they now have the added option to draw a free Badge at random instead of the normal Battle Cry RWB effects.

Badges take effect immediately and stay with the Unit for the rest of the game. A Unit may have more than 1 Badge, but cannot obtain more than 1 per turn.

Badges can be traded between Units in the same Sector (as per normal trading rules).

Using a Badge is optional: you always have the choice not to use it. Having a second copy of the same Badge (via the Officer Badge) has no effect.

Cards from Badges can be recognized by this small symbol: [shield icon]

Optional Rules

Badge of Honor

Units may spend 2 [star icon] AND 2 [small token icon] during Phase 3 to "purchase" a random Badge. No more than 1 Badge may be purchased or drawn per turn per Unit.

Free Badges

If players find a particular Map too difficult, give them a free random Badge at the beginning of the game. This can also be used to balance between veteran players and fresh recruits.

Efficiency Medal

The Efficiency Medal is an Award. Its printed text reads:

Efficiency Medal: Draw 2 Badges of your choice OR all Units draw 1 Badge at random OR discard this Award and draw another.

Badge Cards

Each Badge card is named below, followed by its printed text. Where a card shows a Final Tally icon, it is described in brackets.

Combat Infantryman

If you have 3 [two-figure icon] in your Final Tally, (in any color), gain a "Fresh Troops" RWB.

Combat Medic

You only need 2 different colored [skull icon] in your Final Tally to gain a "Dead Man's Gift" RWB.

Driver

You only need 2 different colored [wrench icon] in your Final Tally to gain a "Special Find" RWB.

Expert Rifleman

If you have 3 [rifle icon] in your Final Tally, (in any color), gain a "Reinforcements" RWB.

Officer

When this Badge is first obtained, it becomes the exact copy of any other Badge (in play or in the deck) until the end of the game.

Officer Copy

When using the Officer Badge, place this card under the Badge that is copied, as a reminder.

Military Police

You only need 2 different colored [star icon] in your Final Tally to gain a "Leadership" RWB.

Marksmanship

Awards cost 2 less [small token icon].

The card's footer also shows "-2 [small token icon] / [RWB disc]". The footer symbols are too small in the photograph to read with confidence, so their exact meaning is not transcribed.

Parachutist

Ignore all Sector requirements (except for Bunkers), including sacrifices, and spend 1 less [small token icon] when Advancing.

Signalman

You only need 2 different colored [small token icon] in your Final Tally to gain a "Battle Cry" RWB.

Transcriber's Notes

  • The photograph shows the rule cards numbered 3 (left, "Badges can be traded..."), 1 (middle, "BADGES") and 4 (right, "Optional Rules"). Card 2 is not in the photograph, so its text is not included here.
  • The photo does not identify the icon glyphs by name. Where this transcription gives an icon in brackets, the icon is described by its appearance on the card; a player should check the printed card for its exact symbol.
