Object of the Game

Each player tries to be the first to rebuild the Cubingo shown on the card with their die, and so collect the most cards.

Setup

  • From the 13 dice, pick out the die with the blue background and place it in the middle of the table. This is the starting die. Set all the other dice aside next to it.
  • Shuffle all the cards well and place them as a face-down draw pile, also ready to hand. And now you can start!

Gameplay

  • The youngest player begins. Play then continues clockwise.
  • When it is your turn, draw a card from the pile, turn it face up and place it on the table so that all players can see it well. Then call out loud: GO!
  • Now each player takes one die with a white background. Since all the dice are built exactly the same, it does not matter which die you take. Look carefully at your die and try to place it against the starting die so that the Cubingo on the card is rebuilt. "Rebuilt" means that the fur colour of the upper half of the body matches the correct mouth, which is located on the lower half of the body. You may turn the die in any direction while doing this.

Attention: In the first round you may only place your die sideways against the starting die. Only from the second round onward is it also allowed to place a die on top of a die that already lies in the middle of the table.

  • If you believe you have rebuilt the Cubingo on the card with your die, call out loud: CUBINGOS! The round ends immediately. No further die may be placed.
  • Now everyone checks whether the fur colour and the mouth of the Cubingo match the Cubingo on the card.
    • If the result is CORRECT: you may take the card and place it in front of you. Then you take a new die from those set aside for the game.
    • If the result is WRONG: you must take your die back, and the same round continues without you until another player wins the card.

Note: by placing dice, several different Cubingos are formed at the same time. What matters is only that one of them matches the one on the card. You do not need to pay attention to the others.

  • As soon as one of you has won a card and taken a new die, the next player in turn draws a new card from the pile, and a new round begins. From the second round onward, you may also place your die on top of dice that are already placed, in order to rebuild the Cubingo on the card. The correct placement options are shown below:
    • Side by side, on one level
    • Side by side, over two levels
    • At a right angle

End of the Game

There are two ways to end the game:

  1. You play until all dice have been placed. The player who has collected the most cards wins.

or

  1. You play until no cards are left. As soon as no die is left lying unused beside the play area, the player whose turn it is may take a die from those already placed in the middle of the table. However, they must choose a die that stands free, so that the construction does not collapse. The player who has collected the most cards is the winner.

In the event of a tie, there are several winners.
