Game Rules
The starting player is either the player who won the last game or the youngest player.
Setup
- Remove the influence cards from the deck and place them together in a face-up pile.
- Remove the mouse card from the deck and put it to one side.
- Shuffle the remaining cards.
- Deal into a pile a number of cards equal to four times the number of players minus 1 (e.g. in a 3 player game 11 cards).
- Add the mouse card to this pile of cards.
- Shuffle these cards, then deal 4 cards to each player.
- The remaining cards not dealt out become the draw deck.
- Each player then discards 1 card from their hand (note, you are not allowed to voluntarily discard the mouse card) into a face-up communal discard pile.
- You now have a hand of 3 cards ready to start the game.
We recommend that when it is not your turn to have your hand placed face-down on the table in front of you.
On Your Turn
You must do one of the following actions:
- Play one of your cards from your hand, revealing it to the other players. Carry out that card's ability, then return it to your hand.
- Draw 2 cards from the draw deck and add them to your hand, then discard 2 cards from your hand face-up to the discard pile (you may not discard the mouse card).
Before the Next Player's Turn
In between each player's turn, all players may turn all revealed cards face down, look at their cards, and reorder them (concealing their position).
The turn then passes clockwise.
Game End
You win the game if:
- You are the first player to reach 5 influence.
- You are the only player with any cards remaining.
- One of the other win conditions on a card is reached (e.g. catching the mouse with the Commander).
A rules video is available on the Kickstarter page.
Character Rules
- The Theorist - Gain one influence.
- The Negotiator - Shuffle your cards, then swap one of your cards face down with a card owned by another player (you may swap the Negotiator itself).
- The Commander - Choose another player's card and turn it face up. If it's the mouse then you win the game.
- The Revolutionist - Choose another player's card and look at it in secret. If it has a number of five or higher discard it and you gain one influence.
- The General - Choose another player's card and turn it face up. Compare the number on the two cards. The card with the lowest number is discarded. The player with the highest number card gains one influence. (If "The Mouse" or "The General" is revealed then this card has no effect, no cards are discarded and neither player gains an influence. The turn then passes as normal.)
- The Chairman - If each other player has fewer remaining cards than you, then you win the game.
